Miss Mattie: Iowa State Fair!!!
http://mattieeileen.blogspot.com/2011/09/iowa-state-fair.html
Monday, September 12, 2011. Firefighter Mattie to the rescue! Mattie and Mommy as we are about to go up in the big ferris. We're up there somewhere. Mattie's prize for winning at the duck pond. Playing in the fountains. Anxiously waiting for the next splash. Watching the swans and ducks. Standing in front of an actual eagle's nest. First corn dog of the day. Mattie is sitting on an Iowa/Iowa State ceramic cow and can't decide which team to choose. Sitting on a caucus cow. Spin art; a family tradition.

What's For Dinner?: Layered Fiesta Casserole
http://atleasticook.blogspot.com/2010/01/layered-fiesta-casserole.html
Saturday, January 30, 2010. This recipe wasn't bad but when I make it again I'm going to use flour tortillas instead of corn. I honestly don't like the way corn tortillas taste but wanted to give it a chance first. Otherwise the casserole wasn't too bad. 1 lb extra-lean ground beef. 1 green pepper, chopped. 1 red pepper, chopped. 1 jar (16 oz.) TACO BELL HOME ORIGINALS Thick 'N Chunky Salsa. 1 can (14-1/2 oz.) diced tomatoes, undrained. 1 pkg (10 oz.) frozen corn, thawed 12 corn tortillas (6 inch).

It was super easy and oh so tasty! 1/2 cup all purpose flour. 1-1/2 teaspoons ground mustard. 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder. 6 pork loin chops (3/4 inch thick), trimmed. 2 tablespoons vegetable oil. 1 can (10-3/4 ounces) condensed cream of chicken soup, undiluted. Combine soup and water; pour over chops. Gravy I made with the pan juices. It was one of the best gravies.

What's For Dinner?: February 2010
http://atleasticook.blogspot.com/2010_02_01_archive.html
Friday, February 19, 2010. This is something I learned to make while I was in high school during my Foods classes. I absolutely loved this class and the teacher, Mrs. Ruggles. I learned a lot from her and this was one of the dishes she showed us how to make. 4-5 boneless chicken breasts. Package of thinly sliced ham. Pound chicken breasts out as much as possible without mutilating it. This will allow more room for the stuffing. Then place desired amount of ham and swiss. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).

What's For Dinner?: October 2009
http://atleasticook.blogspot.com/2009_10_01_archive.html
Sunday, October 25, 2009. This is one of our favorites and it's so easy to make. 1/2 lb. linguine, uncooked. 3 cups broccoli florets. 3 carrots, peeled, sliced (I sometimes use frozen carrots). 1 lb beef sirloin steak, cut into strips. 1/4 cup zesty Italian dressing. 1 Tbsp. teriyaki. Cook pasta in large saucepan as directed on package, adding vegetables to the boiling water for the last 2 min. Sauce; cook 2 min. or until sauce is thickened, stirring occasionally. The finished product. Yum, yum good!
