http://hygieneleigh.blogspot.com/2012_01_01_archive.html
Leigh's Dental Hygiene Experience. Tuesday, January 31, 2012. Local Anesthetic Written Board. So so happy right now. I am not sure if I passed but honestly who really cares at this point. Just glad it's not hanging over my head anymore. The actual test was not as bad as I expected. Done, Done, Done, Done! Posted by Leigh and Todd. Tuesday, January 24, 2012. How will I ever be good enough? How will I have any idea what I am doing? What will I do without an instructer to check my work? Why I love the VA!

http://karliedh2012.blogspot.com/2011_04_01_archive.html
Karlie's Dental Hygiene Stuff. Thursday, April 14, 2011. We have a lot of WOW's but no MOM's. ha ha). My last first year clinc day! It was the best of times, it was the worst of times. The last clinic session of my first year! I can't believe it! It has gone by so fast! I had a lot to do today! I had to finish 2 quads on my friend and then 3 quads on my husband. And I was supposed to take a PANO on my husband as well. I totally forgot about the pano! Well today was great! Isn't my hubby a cutie? I was fr...

Karlie's Dental Hygiene Stuff: November 2011
http://karliedh2012.blogspot.com/2011_11_01_archive.html
Karlie's Dental Hygiene Stuff. Wednesday, November 30, 2011. So, this didn't happen in clinic, but this is proof I've got dental hygiene brain 24/7. I was teaching a tumbling class tonight of kids of various ages. I was spotting this one girl and looked at her teeth and they all looked really small for how big she was. So I asked her how old she was and she is 7. Then I asked her a question I already knew the answer to. She has lost no teeth and is 7 years old! What if she has no permanent teeth? But any...

Karlie's Dental Hygiene Stuff: Last Thursday Clinic!!
http://karliedh2012.blogspot.com/2012/04/last-thursday-clinic.html
Karlie's Dental Hygiene Stuff. Saturday, April 14, 2012. The very last real clinic day of my life! I had a whole bunch of good stuff planned to do. 7 quads of a III. On Wednesday my morning patient cancelled. Shoot! I didn't have the will power to scramble to get someone so I left my morning open and planned to help out fellow students. That went well. I did help out and we didn't have CA so I really was helpful. Then in the middle of the morning guess who calls me? It was a very good pot luck!

Karlie's Dental Hygiene Stuff: January 2012

Karlie's Dental Hygiene Stuff. Thursday, January 26, 2012. Week #4 of 15! I am too stressed and worried about the Weber Human Services Service Project that I am planning tomorrow to think about blogging much. I did learn something golden today. If you can only feel the calculus one way (up) then it is probably CEJ. If you can feel it from both directions (up and down) it is probably calculus! Such wonderful advice from J Wold. Idiot moment of the day. I put Arestin in the wrong pocket! Ha ha I'm a dummy!

Karlie's Dental Hygiene Stuff: Final Mockboard
http://karliedh2012.blogspot.com/2012/02/final-mockboard.html
Karlie's Dental Hygiene Stuff. Friday, February 24, 2012. I am so sick of having disasters! Every mockboard for me has been a disaster. To sum up. My x-rays sucked and I forgot that she had a long HH and I had not looked in her mouth before the day of mockboards. So what happened? I got her checked in 30 minutes late! Do you know what that means? I should have been docked an hour and a half of time. So that would have left me with 30 minutes to clean. Good thing the instructors were extra kind!

Karlie's Dental Hygiene Stuff: March 2011
http://karliedh2012.blogspot.com/2011_03_01_archive.html
Karlie's Dental Hygiene Stuff. Wednesday, March 30, 2011. Two patients in one day again! Today my plan was to finish Halli and to start scaling on Morgen. I did not get Halli finished. She had to leave at 9:20 and I only got half her mouth done. I should be able to do this quicker by now! She did have a wicked lingual bar that was caked with calculus though! How do I get faster at this? I do not know! On Morgen I scaled a quad and passed off the diagnodent PE. Woopee! Two in one day. He was like uh oh, I...

Leigh's Dental Hygiene Experience. Thursday, March 22, 2012. I still needed six injections and Karen was kind enough to let me do hers. I think it was a win for both of us because he was a bit of a pain! The VERY BEST part of the day was the end when I realized I had successfully completed ALL of my clinic requirements! I am ready to graduate. Posted by Leigh and Todd. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Only 1 more VA day. Weirdest Day of Clinic Ever. Last sealant clinic of my educational career.

Leigh's Dental Hygiene Experience: TA day
http://hygieneleigh.blogspot.com/2012/03/ta-day.html
Leigh's Dental Hygiene Experience. Thursday, March 29, 2012. This week I had both Tuesday and Wednesday off. It was glorious. I wasn't feeling all that motivated to say the least after my days off. I have finished my requirements and figured I would just show up and call someone or see some of the walk ins that seem to be suddenly showing up every day. Yeah I know, lazy. Anyway it was not a bad day, I went home feeling even lazier than when I came. Posted by Leigh and Todd. Only 1 more VA day.

Karlie's Dental Hygiene Stuff: October 2011
http://karliedh2012.blogspot.com/2011_10_01_archive.html
Karlie's Dental Hygiene Stuff. Wednesday, October 26, 2011. Advantages of being a TA. So today the juniors went over air powder polish, selective polish, and fluoride varnish. Being a TA has helped me out a lot! It is so good to go over stuff that we learned a year ago to remember the strategies and techniques once learned and forgotten. We also had to trouble shoot a lot to get the darn things working! As far as things learned from teaching to use the hand piece and prophy angle. I just learned that...
