Arsenic And Old Lace. On Monday, September 20, 2010 · Leave a Comment. Can it still be called a mystery if everyone knows this famous story? Old ladies poisoning lonely little old pensioners and traveling salesmen, burying them in the basement and collecting their life insurance. When we decided to work in miniature the image quickly came together. The figures are from Central Hobbies. A model railway shop, and the bottle was an old one we kept for just such a purpose. The action takes place in 1933 on the iconic train that ran between Chicago and New York. A rising starlet regards the train as a symbol of her increasing success, while an old flame, down on his luck, sees her as his last chance. And Then There Were None. The brief was for something to suggest the isolation of the location, the terror of the murders, and the sense of helplessness as the victims are picked off, one by one.
