June 16, 2009. After 17 hours of flying (with a layover in Amsterdam), we’ve arrived in Tanzania! Actually, we’ve been here for almost a week now, but life has been great so far to say the least. One small step.Taking our first steps off the plane onto African soil. The Welcome Band - A local band was playing music outside the airport as we were coming out. They probably werent there specifically for us, but it was still really cool. Our group, clad in our pink EWH shirts, waiting outside the airport.

This generally applies for Monday-Thursday:. 7:30(ish) – wake up, get ready, and eat breakfast. 8:30-12:30 – Swahili class (w/ tea break around 10). 12:30-1:30 – lunch break (we go back home to eat, but most students bring packed lunches). 1:30-2:30 – engineering lecture. 2:30-5:30 – engineering lab (w/ tea break around 4; end time is when we finish, usually much earlier).
