Vietnam Report from the Field: December 2011
http://vietnamteamjournal.blogspot.com/2011_12_01_archive.html
Friday, December 2, 2011. Mixed emotions always accompany the final day of any extended experience. Was it what we expected? Did we need our host’s expectations? What can we take away from all this and what is best forgotten? In any case, our last day began with a rare brightness from the sun shining through clear skies, an uplifting omen perhaps. Pam was expected to participate as a judge but previous commitments at the University precluded her attendcance. An audio system amplified noise and music.

Romania: Impressed by the Romanian people
http://romaniateamjournal.blogspot.com/2013/09/impressed-by-romanian-people.html
Wednesday, September 18, 2013. Impressed by the Romanian people. Today was our third day at the clinic. I think that both the children and volunteers have found our groove together. We have learned which children need a little extra encouragement and those who need a little bit more discipline. I think today, I was only pinched once by Alina! However, today Sammy did pull my hair once or maybe three times. Every time we pass by. We are all feeling a bit tired; however, seeing the smiling beautiful faces ...

Romania: May 2012

Friday, May 25, 2012. Yesterday I left many sets of the flash cards at the school. Today I was very pleased to see the English teacher already going through them to determine what she might use in her class. Each class today was Bingo time. We played Bingo last Friday and the kids have begged for it every day. I told them we would do Bingo again on Friday. Bingo gives the students good practice for speaking and hearing numbers. Thursday, September 19, 2013. An amazing little mimic. I wonder where these little people will be in ten to twenty years from now in their life’s journey. I pray to God that somehow they will each have a pleasant journey. Entry submitted by: Lorraine. Messages of the Day - Barbara:. Posted by M Bjorklund. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Romania: Children who need and deserve continual nurturing
http://romaniateamjournal.blogspot.com/2013/09/children-who-need-and-deserve-continual.html
Tuesday, September 17, 2013. Children who need and deserve continual nurturing. I am sad to know that the teams are no longer as consistent as they were in the past. These children need and deserve continual nurturing and support if they are to thrive. On a lighter note, we ended our day with a wonderful Italian dinner and a culturally informative walk home. Maryanne got to see the Gypsy King’s castle! Entry submitted by: Barbara. Message of the Day - Tracey:. Posted by M Bjorklund. April 12, 2014. Child...

Friday, March 16, 2012. No matter where you go, there you are! Our final day at school - the children are as energetic and fun as ever. We teach a full load with Ms Vananh and Ms Lan. We all had the kids sign our yearbooks and they surrounded us, clamoring to have their notebooks signed by us. Lovely YouTube songs and dances.lots of Hangman games! Lunch at school and coffee at Boong Cafe with Bob, Jack and Mr. Quy. Barb's attempts to order a large mug of coffee resulted in. But it was good. One more clas...
