塔門為大鵬灣 形勝之區，舟楫通津之所 ，是海路交通的一個中途補給站 於五至七十年代，塔門處於全盛時期，有村民約數仟人，出海作業的漁船逾數百艘，漁穫豐盛。 但時至今日，鑑於生活形式的改變，島上的商舖經營一落千丈，鄉民多於市區就業外，更為提高子女的教育水平而遷往市區居住，餘下居住的多為鬢白垂老之長者，島上景況日見衰落 另因漁業的式微亦使漁民為生計而轉業，村民紛紛赴海外謀生，灣內船影寥寥 昔日歸帆盪綠波 旗幟揚溢飄滿海的景緻己告消逝，風貌杳然難復返，不禁令人黯然神傷 幸得這偉大的母親 塔門 孕育出兩名賢子 其一為塔門青年會、另為塔門海外同鄉會。 如舉辦 賀歲足球賽 、 新春醒獅麒麟團拜 、 塔門天后賀誕 、 塔門龍舟競渡 、 中秋晚會 等活動 甚至十年一屆的大型活動 塔門聯鄉太平清醮 ，青年會均發揮其精神與作用，協助籌辦一切事宜 現更直接參與村務工作 除得到海外鄉僑、村民及地區人士的支持外，更成為一個具代表性的地方組織。 早於50年代, 村內設有自衛隊, 香港政府派有槍支以防海盜劫掠村民財物, 而自衛隊總部就設於塔門天后廟內的 捕房 , 凡是村中大小事務召開之會議, 都在此進行, 此乃早期所謂鄉公所之雛型。

打醮源早，戰國 竹書紀年 載 黃帝曾游於洛水之上，見大魚，即殺牲以醮之。 整個醮會所需的花費要高達四百多萬元，而經濟來源除有聯鄉人丁錢一百二十萬元外 塔門本地居民每位貳百元，而聯鄉鄉民壹百元 ，主要還是要依靠海外 英國為主 及本港熱心鄉里、社會賢達、各界友好善信鼎力捐助。 活動內容: 祭祀祈福 粵劇 木偶劇 齋宴及水上飄色巡遊。 成員組織: 塔門 吉澳 高流灣 三門仔 深灣 往灣及三磨石。 張任民 陳天有 石 勝 石廣燕. 張貴生 黎連壽 黃觀保 李 球 杜進邦 藍觀添.
