My boys keep me on my toes all day long, so blogging becomes a bit difficult. I decided to start with Dal Makhani, an all time favourite with everyone. I found the perfect recipe on Malabar Spices. Only difference is that I did not use canned tomatoes, only fresh ones. The end result was just great. My entire family loved it. Split Black Gram (Urad dal): 1 cup.

Fry in a bit of ghee and grind to a fine paste. Add 1/4 cup of coriander. Leaves in the end. Grind to a smooth paste. 1 In hot oil, add the whole spices, curry leaves, onion and green chilli. In this order. Saute for 2 minutes. 2 Add Paste A and fry on a low flame, till the oil oozes out. 3 Add the chicken and fry for 2 minutes.

Macaroni Chicken Cheeese Bake. 1 1/2 cups chicken (boiled and shredded). 2 egg whites (stiffly beaten). 1 cup chopped, seedless capsicum. 1 cup chopped carrot. 3/4 cup grated cheese. 120 gms fresh cream. 1 tbsp tomato ketchup. 2 cups boiled macaroni. 2 large firm tomatoes, sliced. 25 gms dry breadcrumbs. 1 Saute all the veggies and keep aside. I Melt butter over a low flame. 7 Check for seasoning.

Adding onions in this dish is optional because many people feel that adding onions makes the dish a bit sweet. Onion 1 medium (chopped) optional. Turmeric Powder: a pinch. 8 Serve hot with rice. Its looking very nice!
