The Tasting Room Food blog: Habits...

http://thetastingroomfoodwineblog.blogspot.com/2009/03/habits.html

The Tasting Room Food blog. Wednesday, March 18, 2009. You know the saying about old habits being hard to break - well, when does a new habit become an old one? How often do you have to repeat something for it to become a habit? However, when giving up (or cutting down) on a bad habit e.g. drinking coffee, the reverse happens. I had it down to one a day and even skipped that one a few times, and yet, as soon as I took my eye off the ball, I was back up to 4-5 a day! Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).

The Tasting Room Food blog: December 2008

http://thetastingroomfoodwineblog.blogspot.com/2008_12_01_archive.html

The Tasting Room Food blog. Tuesday, December 23, 2008. Well, my goose was cooked well ahead of time - and eaten! Wednesday, December 17, 2008. All of a sudden, its only a week to Christmas. And to say that I am not organised for it is a serious understatement. I have put up the wreath - a beautiful one from Judith at the market, I have found last year's Christmas decorations after much searching, but they are still in a bag looking at me balefully - or is that me looking at them balefully? One does wond...

The Tasting Room Food blog: Wine course in Kilkenny

http://thetastingroomfoodwineblog.blogspot.com/2009/02/wine-course-in-kilkenny.html

The Tasting Room Food blog. Thursday, February 26, 2009. Wine course in Kilkenny. A couple of weeks ago, I braved the unusually snowy weather in Ireland to travel to Thomastown Kilkenny for a week-long course with The Wine Academy. This was the Advanced Certificate course, one of the WSET accredited courses, and it was delivered by Mary Gaynor, who runs the Wine Academy. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). http://thetastingroomfoodwineblog.blogspot.com/2009_01_01_archive.html

The Tasting Room Food blog. Friday, January 30, 2009. The Clatter of Forks and Spoons. I asked for and got a copy of Richard Corrigan's latest cookbook 'The Clatter of Forks and Spoons' for Christmas. I had bought it for someone else as a pressie, and then realised that I wanted my own copy! My grandparents on my mother's side of the family also moved during the early days and settled probably only about 5 or 6 miles away from Richard's family. My parents (and we children of course! And all in Irish of c...

The Tasting Room Food blog: Wine course results...

http://thetastingroomfoodwineblog.blogspot.com/2009/06/wine-course-results.html

The Tasting Room Food blog. Monday, June 1, 2009. Well, the moment I had been dreading. would I have passed the wine course exam? I got the results recently, and nobody was more flabbergasted to see that I had got a Distinction in both the written and the tasting exam! What a result - definitely down to the help I had got from both Colm (my brother and business partner) and from the course tutor Mary Gaynor. And maybe a little bit down to the many years of wine drinking coming into their own at last!

The Tasting Room Food blog: September 2008

http://thetastingroomfoodwineblog.blogspot.com/2008_09_01_archive.html

The Tasting Room Food blog. Saturday, September 27, 2008. More on the hot wok gas burner. Well, it arrived and looked exactly like the picture on the web! However, it arrived with a propane connector, not a butane one, which was not what I expected. Much tooing and froing ensued between me, the UK supplier and the original manufacturers - and eventually, it appeared that we just needed to attach a butane regulator, which we duly did (well, my husband did! And hey presto - it worked! And came across all o...

The Tasting Room Food blog. Monday, February 23, 2009. Exciting moves and market days ahead. Current plans are for a mainly fresh food produce market, lots of veggies, meat, fish etc with an emphasis on quality and good value as well. Of course we'll also have some produce for people to be able to treat themselves, but always with a healthy emphasis! Or if you would just like to hear more about our plans. The Tasting Room Food blog: November 2008

http://thetastingroomfoodwineblog.blogspot.com/2008_11_01_archive.html

The Tasting Room Food blog. Saturday, November 29, 2008. I have been struggling for a while now to get a recipe to cook rabbit, which looks and tastes good. One recipe tasted great (lots of red wine and slow cooking), but looked unappetising - mainly a dull grey colour! The other recipe - loosely based on something someone had eaten in Spain - was incredibly tough (a quick cook recipe) and the rabbit tasted extremely gamey! This is what it is supposed to look like. Sunday, November 9, 2008. Everyone comm...
