March 2016 – taughtus
https://taughtus.wordpress.com/2016/03
The has-been who never was…. March 20, 2016. March 20, 2016. Blanket-wreath descending fast softens morning sounds,. Fog blanks all to silence. Distant shouts cut through without. Direction for their origin, frequency is losing range,. Breadth too soon diminishes. Conversation compensation. Thus becomes the norm as envy meets resentment. Wrangling sibilant arrogance. Innocence of youth. Enjoys scattergun delivery, enunciation’s ordnance,. Origins in laziness but often seems uncouth. March 8, 2016. And ne...

The has-been who never was…. October 10, 2015. Footfall’s weighted hope eternal forging unto early gloom. Berries falling randomly intersperse each tuft of grass. Kicked up leaves neath bare twig hedgerows illustrate all things must pass. From otherworld’s emergent come toadstool and mushroom. Shadow-cast in moonlight’s wane, remnant days long aftermath. Laden branches silhouette, borne rosehips bending low. Autumn winds abscission call means gravity will take a bow. Next Post →. One thought on “.

The has-been who never was…. September 16, 2015. Amongst the grit and broken glass strewn across the path. Autumnal gales have added thousands in their aftermath. Of berries that are dulling fast their former ruby glow. On hips and haws and brambles from a thorn-rich wild hedgerow. No birds will peck the sweetened flesh of rosehips by the score. As squalls have caused them all to fall unto the butt-strewn floor. Where underfoot they’re trodden, kicked aside or blown,. Next Post →. One thought on “. Fill ...

The has-been who never was…. December 22, 2015. The leather belt lost long ago was only ever worn for show,. Now the trousers get worn high held aloft by old school tie. Whose wearing shows he breaks the rules instilled by England’s finest schools,. His tailored suit was long ago stitched by hand in Savile Row,. Its threadbare cut and style displays a quality from former days. When hand-loomed cloth was marked with chalk to guide the tailor in his work. Navigate a winding path eschewing all companions.
August 2016 – taughtus
https://taughtus.wordpress.com/2016/08
The has-been who never was…. August 17, 2016. August 20, 2016. A road that leads on through elsewhere, and never more is time well spent. A cul-de-sac filled last resort where dreams will always go undreamt. A settlement of second homes that spends its year unoccupied. A dream that peaks with summer’s heat but wanes in mellow autumntide. A dead domain where none shall dream and no one lives (or so it seems). A roadway leading ever on, a causeway to the great beyond.

In memory (an open letter to america). June 13, 2016. Your people died as rowboats. Caught in the eye of a godless storm but I imagine theirs. Were the only kaleidoscope lightning bolts present,. Cataclysmic green or blue-. Anything but the monotone of statistic, excuse. There is no consolation for. Tongues that’ll never taste salt from neither. Tear nor ocean once more,. Shipwrecked hearts that’ll only ever be remembered as victims,. As scarred, as a record we never wanted to break. February 21, 2016.

August 16, 2015. Hello again, friends! Firstly, I suppose I owe this tiny corner of the internet an apology for somewhat abandoning it in the last 6 months. Amongst exams and just a general sense of stagnation and disconnection, I haven’t really felt like sharing a lot of my writing. This extended to a lot of my close friends as well. But as usual, I hope you have all been well. It didn’t rain today. It did not rain. The hands of the clock. In the hallway have. Long since passed midnight. For the rain,.

October 14, 2014. October 15, 2014. I have a quick poem for you that I wrote in my tutor room when seeking some quiet as I’m not very well. This is about a scene that reoccurs in my dreams quite often at the moment and it’s so captivating to envision I thought I’d use it for inspiration. I hope you’re having a good week. The collapsing moon bleeds into a twilight sea,. Dismantled stars skim waves as if they were combusting pebbles;. Transcended by a flash flood of iridescence. October 14, 2014 at 7:49 pm.

The Haiku: A Love Letter To Autumn. September 27, 2014. September 27, 2014. It’s been a while. I’m sorry. I have the next in the LLTA series for you today in which I try out the formal of Haiku poetry. I think I’ve correctly used the 5-7-5 syllable format for each stanza although I’m not certain… I gave it my best shot ah. I hope you had a great week. I fell in love with. The way he came with the ease. Of changing seasons,. Swept into my life. Like burnt sienna leaves in a. Winter gale; the way. Notify m...

June 29, 2014. I’m sorry I’ve been absent for a while- it’s been a stressful week! As I’m still at school, summer is revision/exam time for a lot of us which has left me with little time for poetry😦 . However if you were following this blog before I deleted everything by accident back in April, you might remember I did a post talking about a little writing project I’ve been doing since October 2013. As it stands, my story is around 5,020 words long (9 A4 pages on Word) but length is not something I find...

February 19, 2015. July 12, 2015. I have a rough, little poem I started writing on Valentines Day when I visited a place that is very special to me. I hadn’t been for a while but it was just a beautiful as I remembered. It was initially meant to be haiku structure but to be honest, I wasn’t really paying attention to the syllable count haha! I finished it at 3 am this morning and kind of just wanted it done. So some stanzas are 5-7-5, others aren’t- oops! Hope you’re well. The sweet remnants of. You are ...

July 2, 2014. July 18, 2015. My favourite of his is linked here. His lips whispered the innocence of spring breeze,. His eyes were windows glazing each sky blue iris. He smelled like the sweetness of freshly cut grass,. His smile radiated like an liquid amber sunset. This boy wasn’t just a feature; he was the landscape. His words pervaded like cotton wool clouds,. Cushioned every fall, sponged each tear drop river;. His utterances flowed through my blood stream. He offered me the sanctuary of his embrace;.

because i was taught to dream
February 23, 2012 @11:56 pm. This story first appeared on my Tumblr. Amelie curled up on the floor and cried. She pulled the old teddy bear that was by her leg and clutched it to her chest. Her mother lowered herself onto the floor, and ran her fingers through Amelie’s hair. Hey puppy, what’s wrong? I dowan go school. Dowan go. I want Mummy play with me. If you don’t go to school, your friends will be very sad. Dowan go. I want Mummy play with me. Does Amelie want to play ‘Simon Says’? Mummy legs up too!

A Christmas tree u...

The has-been who never was…. December 18, 2016. Who are those old men walking alone. On the worn parapet of our broken sea wall,. Where are they heading adrift in their thoughts,. Gait without purpose, what draws them along? Regular sight on bleak block defences. Wrapped for most weathers, hunched against all,. Seemingly destined for nowhere specific. Intent upon reaching the place that’s beyond,. Buried deep down in cold’s cloak of loneliness,. Swaddling blanket that comforts the lost,. August 17, 2016.
