二百多年前，漢人未大舉進入平原開墾前， 礁溪. 1773年福建漳州南靖人林元昱四兄弟率親眾進入淇武蘭港邊高地，與平埔族為鄰，進行開墾。1796年吳沙由 頭城. 登陸，一路南下開墾。 1812年宜蘭納入清治版圖，設嘻瑪蘭廳治理，礁溪鄉一帶稱為礁溪庄，隸屬於淇武蘭堡管轄。1895年日治之始，日人調整行政區，淇武蘭堡改稱四圍堡。1920年撤銷四圍堡，改為礁溪庄。1947 年由庄改為礁溪鄉。1950年 宜蘭縣. 礁溪，台語意 「早坑」，原意是乾旱缺水的溪床地。 訂閱： 文章 (Atom).
