Much of my work is conservation window frames and doors. Today’s challenge is to retain the original look. While enabling the doors and frames to perform. Windows are usually double glazed, with machined. In draft excluders I am also proud to have developed my own type of beading (a more weatherproof solution). Sometimes I also use a gasket for an even better seal. I tend to use microporous paint. Left and above: curved window and door -. Part of barn restoration and modernisation.

The business was set up by my father, Alan Taylor,. In 1969. Trading as Alan Taylor and Sons, his reputation as a skilled artist and carpenter grew through word of mouth. He worked extensively on bespoke projects for local estates and also made candlesticks for St. Edmund’s Church. With dad away on holiday in 1980 I made myself a turned bed. This was enough to inspire me to work with my father and learn the trade. For progress updates on this.

I offer specialist refurbishment expertise for Victorian conservatories. Complete refurbishment might include replacing rotten sashes or building an entire new roof. This could incorporate modern rubber gaskets into traditional-looking, slender glazing bars. Finer details such as matching moulding styles would also make up part of a refurbishment. Other restorations carried out have included:. An octagonal bell tower. Lime mortar re-pointing of a church bell tower.
