These data sets consisted of total population, percentage of population between the ages of 25-34, average cost of a 1 bedroom apartment, average cost of a studio apartment, the walk score, bike score, transit score, percentage spent on utilities, percentage spent of groceries, and overall cost of living as a percentage above or below the national average. Design and develop an educational website that appeals to both an audience of teachers as well as an audience of students in 6th-8th grade. The site must be professional, and contain within it, learning modules that are tailored to the different grade levels. Working in teams, conceive a product for which you will then design an innovative user interface. In designing the branding for this app, I focused on the motif of grids to represent street maps, and dots to represent intersections. In Chromaptic’s logo, the grid is not only present in creating the shape of the C, but one of the sub-games in which you capture street blocks, is referenced as well. This project was done as part of the Colligan User Interface Design challenge, where it took 3rd place.

Create a branding for the vodka of a new Springfield-based distillery, called Swallowtail Spirits. The design should feature aspects unique to Oregon, and be extensible to include future products of whisky and brandy. For future products, there would be both a change in the plant represented on the label (one that is still associated with swallowtails), as well as a change in color to quickly differentiate between the products.

The Biggest Pumpkin Ever. Use letterpress processes to create a handcrafted book. This book was based on a reading response done by a younger me in 1st grade. In the reading response I reflected on the book, The Biggest Pumpkin Ever, which told the story about two mice who unbeknownst to them, were raising the same giant pumpkin. This book was made in an edition of three, with a custom binding. In the back, one will find the colophon, as well as a copy of the original reading response.
