Taylor Petrick's Blog. A blog on Programming, Graphics, Technology and Math. September 9, 2011. Math and Campus Maps. We worked for several hours that night and didn’t really produce any solid results. I decided to try again earlier this morning and I’ve finally come up with an extremely ugly solution for cases were the number of layers (n) is greater than 4:. I’m still not satisfied, but I’m putting it away because I’ve already put way too much time into it. And posted in Math. Mesh loader ». Fill in yo...

Move-In! | Taylor Petrick's Blog

Taylor Petrick's Blog. A blog on Programming, Graphics, Technology and Math. September 4, 2011. Well, it’s official, I’m a University of Waterloo student! Well not quite, classes don’t start until next week. The move was straightforward enough and I’m already starting to feel at home on campus. Believe it or not, I still need to go buy several more textbooks. Many of the ones on my shelf are from previous courses I’ve taken that I thought might be handy for reference at some point. And posted in Personal.

Taylor Petrick's Blog. A blog on Programming, Graphics, Technology and Math. September 10, 2011. I’ve started to work on fleshing out a proper set of mesh classes for handling mesh instancing, animation and whatnot. I scrapped my old .obj loader and wrote a new one that’s more compliant with current codebase. Here are a few shots of the space scene running with different meshes:. This entry was posted on Saturday, September 10th, 2011 at 7:07 PM and tagged with Ion Engine. And posted in Programming.

The Roleplayer’s World. Newer posts →. April 26, 2008 · 10:01 pm. Madly trying to add in other things that should have been added ages ago. 😉 Note to self: making an MMO in four months while working, taking anatomy and physiology in college, taking care of a pregnant wife AND two toddlers is probably not the brightest thing one can do! Added more buildings to the town area, and a ruin in the swamp. Really need more ruins around in a couple of places, but those, again, will need to be added later. Redid ...

The Roleplayer’s World. TGEA is dead… Long live T3D? A moment of silence…for the GarageGames website. →. January 11, 2009 · 1:42 pm. Just a quick screenshot – and still has the old GUI, not the new one we’ll be using for the actual game. This screenshot shows a great image of night in the game, and some of the chat variety. Our programmer is busy here talking to himself – he’s actually running all of the clients chatting. 😉. TGEA is dead… Long live T3D? Leave a Reply Cancel reply. Enter your comment here.

The Roleplayer’s World. Ask not for whom the bell tolls…. October 18, 2008 · 1:31 pm. Yes, this blog has been quiet for a while now. It’s been a busy summer and fall, with a new baby, heading back to fulltime school at age 35, and getting a Warhammer Online chapter started with my gaming guild. The contest that I worked on last year and part of this year is finally over – congrats to the winner, Frayed Knights! And with that bit of closure, it’s time for me to get back to work on a project again. Meanwhi...

The Roleplayer’s World. Happy birthday to me! April 10, 2008 · 11:06 am. Ugh Spent last weekend away, this week at work, and this weekend away too. Too many birthdays in early April, visiting my wife’s parents both weekends first for hers (late) and my birthdays, then this coming weekend for her Mom’s and our twin girls’ birthday coming up. Busy time in between with class and work, so I’m not being as productive as I’d like. Happy birthday to me! Leave a Reply Cancel reply. Enter your comment here. Get e...

The Roleplayer’s World. Design Docs 101 →. January 14, 2009 · 10:50 am. A moment of silence…for the GarageGames website. Well, the new website is up, and GarageGames is being BLASTED TO SMITHEREENS by their community. And rightly so, I believe. Basically, they took the old site, dismantled or damaged every community-friendly feature they had in place, ripped out the old (yellow = friendly, warm, open) color scheme and plopped in a slick, black and white corporate color pattern. Design Docs 101 →. Pretty ...

The Roleplayer’s World. April 19, 2008 · 9:45 am. Redid most of the GUI art this week. Got some decent looking art in place, I’m pretty happy with it anyway. New opening screen – new layout to the pre-game screens – new loading screen for zone loads – new GUI borders in the game itself. It’s not perfect, but it’s functional, and looks pretty decent without overly detracting from the gameplay. Enough chatter – some screenshots! Filed under Dream Contest Blog. The Company We Keep. September 25, 2015. Yesterday, I met my friend Andrew for coffee. He’s a religious person, a former preacher who now focuses on music as ministry. He talked about “the void” and “the glory” — that vast unknown that is reality and the emotional transcendence that is on the other side. He said that most people think of the two as opposing forces, but instead he believes people must traverse the void, live in it, face it fully — to find God. My friend Mac Scott said, “When you are...
