TAYLOR ROY: August 2013
http://taylorroy.blogspot.com/2013_08_01_archive.html
Life and climbing in Knoxville, TN. So long Boulder! Wednesday, August 28, 2013. Stuck at the Fins. Since we almost moved to Idaho, we thought it would be cool to visit the Fins, and see what might have been. Rumors of rough roads and needing 4 wheel drive made me nervous about taking my tiny Honda to this area but I forced all this to the back of my mind as we turn off the interstate and started up a dirt road. Leah on the phone with AAA. This was a fatal mistake! Barry getting some help. Luckily, Leah h...

Life and climbing in Knoxville, TN. So long Boulder! Wednesday, January 23, 2013. Hueco Christmas and a Hueco New Year. I am a horrible, selfish person. Instead of flying home to Seattle to see my family for Christmas, I chose to go climbing in Hueco. Einar on Brittany in a Blender V9. Jon Linhart on The Bathtub V9. Life quickly get stripped down to the basics. Eat, sleep, climb, repeat. Last January, as an experiment, I posted my climbing goals for 2012. I wanted to see if making my goals public wou...
TAYLOR ROY: June 2012
http://taylorroy.blogspot.com/2012_06_01_archive.html
Life and climbing in Knoxville, TN. So long Boulder! Tuesday, June 26, 2012. I have been interested in this area for years but the pull of Rifle always kept me away. However, my options at Rifle have dwindled to super hard, and my interest in mega projecting is extremely low, so I finally made it to Indy Pass. The first day we went to the Grotto Day Use Area and checked out Gollum's Cave, and The Ice Cave. Louder than 11 recently put out a video http:/ vimeo.com/43867547. Later in the day, we headed to t...

Life and climbing in Knoxville, TN. So long Boulder! Monday, August 27, 2012. Mt Evans- Area D. On Sunday we headed up to Area D on Mount Evans. This is one of the most beautiful areas I have ever climbed. Unfortunately, large sections of these massive boulders fail to offer climbable features so there aren't very many boulder problems. Looking up valley at the Black Wall. A few were interested in trying The Nothing V8- a 35 foot problem with the business at the start and a nice victory romp to the top.

Life and climbing in Knoxville, TN. So long Boulder! Tuesday, October 9, 2012. Bugaboos- Lentils or TVP, Eh? After a week of climbing in the Bugaboos, our rope was starting to look like a furry caterpillar. Concerned that our rope could core shot at any moment, we decided to skip repeating another established route and focus on establishing a new route. Cool pattern in the snow. Ben at the base. Ben below the crux of P1. Taylor ready for P2. Taylor on P2 hand crack. Taylor below the crux of P2. Pitch 5 f...

Lithic Loafing: Seurat
http://lithicloafing.blogspot.com/2008/09/seurat.html
Tuesday, September 23, 2008. Last Friday, Justin and I found ourselves at Mt. Evans again, on what was so far the chilliest morning of the season. On previous trips, Justin was charitable enough to allow me to climb on Bierstadt. 160;early in the day, with favorable conditions. By the time we would walk over to his project, Seurat. Executing with style and grace (and animated facial expressions, as illustrated below). Well done, sir. Well done. September 23, 2008 at 3:20 PM. Speaking of emailing photos.

They call me a goddamn chump who couldn't jump if his life depended on it. And one day it might. Who knows? Simone is an honest dog, who doesn't feign motivation when tired. Instead, she rests her ragged paws and worn muscles, and laughs at the cavalier conceits of her human companions who refuse to do the same. November 9, 2008 at 4:00 PM.

Friday, May 16, 2008. By Way of Update. I really have nothing to say, and will belabor that point with many words. Some of you have issued demands for an update, and must now receive it graciously. Those who haven't asked for one- indeed stumbled upon this blog by sheer accident - will be labeled as "collateral damage." I will now proceed. Success is getting really good roundtrip gas mileage to and from the crag by employing my mad geriatric driving skills. 160;(She then deconstructed laissez faire.

Tuesday, September 2, 2008. All-caps and exclamation points are useful in conveying the full thrust of my excitement, wouldn't you say? Oh, and I nearly forget:. Way proud. I assume the late in the day post is due to the post-send hangover? September 2, 2008 at 6:06 PM. Stumbled across your blog. nice send dude. was it a right when you got there crush? Thursday, January 15, 2009. For me, bouldering is about going out and convening with nature. It's about energetic sessions with friends. It's about a goal-oriented sort of physical training. It's about puzzle-solving, and mind games. It's about reduction and expansion, deconstruction and reconstruction. It's about sex, booze, and cash-money. And now, for your viewing pleasure, here is my ascent of Slider. At Horse Pens 40, Alabama. After having read the rhapsodic prose about my experience on southeas...

Look toward the center of the photo, just under the splintered log. Even on vacation, I can't forget about my projects at home.
