Thomas in Japan

Serving at Kyoto International University Academy. Sunday, September 29, 2013. May, June and July! Well, it seems like the time has quickly come and gone and, seeing how these months are long gone, I thought I would just fill in the gap for the spring here. Since Caitlin and I are now married, this blog will mostly fill space for my ruminations on Japan and the various adventures that we get ourselves into that don't make it to the monthly newsletters posted on Caitlin's blog. Cheering on the black team!

Thomas in Japan: A Noteworthy November

http://tbinjp.blogspot.com/2012/12/a-noteworthy-november.html

Serving at Kyoto International University Academy. Sunday, December 16, 2012. And another month has flown by, leaving me with a newsletter to write! Especially noteworthy this month was KIU's school festival! School festivals in Japan are a special time of year when students get to show their parents, relatives and community what they are able to do. Here's an interesting and informative article. On school festivals in Japan. The school festival theme. Runners at the marathon as our students cheer for th...

Thomas in Japan: April 2013

http://tbinjp.blogspot.com/2013_04_01_archive.html

Serving at Kyoto International University Academy. Wednesday, April 3, 2013. A fleeting February and a maniac March. Hello friends and family,. It has been a while! My apologies for the lull in updates. Between school ending, days of endless grading and my computer becoming a very large paperweight, I regrettably did not send out a newsletter for February. Exchanging gifts for Valentine's Day. March came and left almost as quickly as February, but with lots more to do! Pray for my planning and lesson mak...

Thomas in Japan: August 2012

http://tbinjp.blogspot.com/2012_08_01_archive.html

Serving at Kyoto International University Academy. Wednesday, August 1, 2012. July has come and come and gone. And passed us by. Finals have been completed, and students and teachers are enjoying vacation. This was my first time to create and grade exams - quite a challenge, but my time at Wheaton prepared me well and I was able to complete everything in time. Between proctoring other exams, and planning and grading my exams, finals week was packed! Sea fireflies) with the middle school students at night.

Serving at Kyoto International University Academy. Monday, May 6, 2013. Hello friends and family! In Japan, school begins in April, so we have started another year already! Things are going smoothly, thanks in part to the fact that I have had a little more time to plan for the new year and I have a year's experience under my belt. Making pancakes for Easter breakfast! This month, please remember these prayer requests:. Pray for all the students as the year continues. Thank you for your support of God's w...

日本!(Nihon = Japan). Thursday, July 31, 2008. Well, I don't have much time or energy to write a whole lot, but I just wanted to give a quick update. Sorry I won't have more pictures. Recently, I have done a lot! It's hard to sum up everything, so starting with the weekend, we went to hanabi again, but this time in Tachikawa without the yukatas, and it was only me, Sae, Ashley, Liz and Nanako. Japanese fireworks are seriously amazing. I'm glad this is something I could experience in Japan. I have gotten on...

Summer in Japan: July 2008

http://amandasimssummerinjapan.blogspot.com/2008_07_01_archive.html

This summer i am spending 10 weeks in Japan on a missions trip. I will be in Shizuoka with a team of 8 others. We have the opportunity of getting to know the wonderful students there and letting God's love shine through us in the process. Wednesday, July 16, 2008. Oh, Satan is sly! So this is not the happiest of posts, but it is an honest one. I am beginning to understand praising God in suffering. Praise Him because if Satan is working hard against you the LORD must be working powerfully through you.
