Monday, 3 November 2014. A childhood treat, special occasion breakfast. 1 cup of flour. 2 cups of whole milk. Blend well, no lumps, batter will be thin. Preheat skillet or crepe pan. Brush a thin coat of vegetable oil across hot pan. Then pour batter - keep swirling until the bottom of pan is covered - not too much, just enough to cover. Cook until slightly golden and then flip. And there is, dare I say, a skill. To serving and eating them. Use your fork to roll. How many can you eat? The cafe is small.

Tuesday, 28 July 2015. Energy in Palm Springs. There are constants in Palm Springs. A statue of Sonny Bono, who was once mayor of the city. Date Shakes at Hadley Fruit Orchards. Palm Trees. Mid-Century Modern Architecture. Misters in outdoor restaurants to keep patrons cool. And what appears to be a farm growing windmills as far as the eye can see. Saturday, 4 July 2015. Fourth of July Parade. At 9 am, Uncle Sam and his entourage made their way from the Del Mar Powerhouse down Coast Boulevard. There were many many many more people in. The parade than watching. Labels: 4th of July. 4 July 2015 at 20:05. Del Mar has a parade? Where have I been? 4 July 2015 at 20:08. It took longer to park and walk to the parade than the actual parade itself but the kids were adorable and it was fun being surrounded by all that red, white and blue!

Saturday, 21 March 2015. Pearson's Gardens in Vista. Time for Spring planting. First stop is an out-of-the-way nursery in Vista. Drove to the end of Beverly Drive without spotting it. Pulled up beside a man mowing his grass, "Do you know where Pearson's Gardens is? Never heard of it," he replied. Turned around. Watched the street numbers closely. Lo and behold, it was tucked right into the neighborhood. A friend, who is a member of a local garden club, mentioned this place and it is well worth a visit.

Saturday, 1 August 2015. During the Spring we designated a big square-ish area of our backyard to creating a melon patch. This is our first attempt to grow watermelon and honeydew and by the looks of things…. Long vines spreading in all directions. Melons the size of baseballs. Bright green healthy leaves. 8230;we are off to a roaring start! Apparently melons don't like to sit on the ground and get their bottoms wet so you are supposed to strap them up in a sling or place a board under them.
