College Writing II

Tuesday, March 29, 2005. Original Last Wish Baby. I found that this drama piece was pretty funny. Within in the humor lied much truth about our society too. Not only did it give you a laugh, but it also made you think about what the writer is saying. Is our society caught up in making their 15 minutes of fame where they would use a baby without a heart as a broadcasting opportunity? Are people really willing to give someone something they cannot use simply to be associated with that person? I remember re...

College Writing II: Poem I Like

http://tbreezy.blogspot.com/2005/02/poem-i-like.html

Thursday, February 10, 2005. I remember reading this poem in high school. I don't recall really liking any particular poem that I've read, but I did remember this poem from high school, so I must have at least felt that this poem was worth while. http:/ www.americanpoems.com/poets/Langston-Hughes/13509. One man's adventures in life and on the Web. Friday, August 01, 2003. Okay, so it's been over a year since I've posted anything here. Sometimes it just takes a while for ideas to percolate. Plus, I wasn't sure that 'blogs were going to last- I didn't want to get hurt on the bleeding edge. Anyway, I've been doing some meta-work here, researching the whole 'blog thing. And I must say that I'm intrigued by it. Two sites in particular have piqued my interest: Masslive's weblogs. Posted by Andrew @ 10:35 AM.

One man's adventures in life and on the Web. Monday, December 13, 2004. Why Do They Do That? I have a little confession to make: I watch. Last night was the finale, and once again, the contestants ended up doing what these contestants always do. The point of the game is to survive, hence the title. On the last episode of the game, the two last contestants- the ones who have successfully survived- have to sit there and listen to the ones they've beaten bitch and moan. "Why did you do it?

One man's adventures in life and on the Web. Friday, October 17, 2003. Another Fall, Another Fall. So the Yankees beat the Sox last night in game 7 of the ALCS to advance to the World Series for the 39th time in their history. The Sox will now go home for the millionth straight year (or something like that) without a World Series Title. And now last night's game is being added to the laundry list of classic losses by the Sox, so says Dan Shaugnessy. Yes, just more hurtful thoughts from a Yankees fan.

One man's adventures in life and on the Web. Friday, February 11, 2005. I had a hard time coming up with a poem to talk about. It's not that I don't know a lot of poems. It's just that I couldn't think of one. I actually searched around and found a poem I hadn't read before that I kind of liked. Here. Posted by Andrew @ 12:52 PM. Tuesday, February 08, 2005. Where did you get all of that from? I don't know where it came from. At that moment, everything just kind of clicked and made sense.

One man's adventures in life and on the Web. Tuesday, February 01, 2005. I became an English major way back when because I liked to write and to write fiction. I quickly discovered one of the central ironies of studying fiction: you don't often get time to read the things that you might want to read. When taking lit classes, I would find myself reading the books that the professor liked, rather than the books I liked. What does this have to do with which story I like best? Because I find it imminently ac...

One man's adventures in life and on the Web. Friday, September 05, 2003. Back to School Weather. My vacation was great. We didn't go anywhere or do anything special: we just puttered around the house for a week. The weather was also spectacular. I realized that I didn't once check the weather. Or the local weather. So why aren't we better at predicting weather? Not sure where I'm going with this. It could be that during nice weather in August, I don't care as much about what's coming down the pike, w...

One man's adventures in life and on the Web. Wednesday, October 01, 2003. In class this week we've been talking about what it means to be educated in today's society. Then today the report came out about how much homework student in the US do. Turns out it's not that much, at least when compared with other countries. So where did this homework myth come from? Is it just an excuse that's been used by students for generations? Have we always been so lazy? Or do people just like to complain about homework?

T Breeze Verdant - Marquetry and Inlay. Inlaid Guitars, Boxes and Jewelry. Shipwreck Ebony and Recycled. You are looking at jewelry that was made from black ebony that washed ashore from a shipwreck that occurred in 1854 off the coast of Cuttyhunk, MA. The red colored wood in the earring to the right came from a retired shipbuilder's scraps derived from a ship's "bolster" (used where a rope would drag across a surface). Thanks for your interest! Also included are photos of sample wooden inlaid boxes.
