Mandy Candy: October 2011
http://smandeville.blogspot.com/2011_10_01_archive.html
Tuesday, October 4, 2011. Watched the new brad pitt movie "moneyball" sunday night. great stuff. this could stem from the fact that i like just about anything pitt does, but it correlated with some stuff i've been thinking on lately. But here's the deal:. That being said, beane (pitt) decides it's time to try something new. he decides to try a new system based off a book previously written with mathematics being the determining factor, not the eyes of scouts and what naturally seems right. And this is wh...

Mandy Candy: March 2012
http://smandeville.blogspot.com/2012_03_01_archive.html
Monday, March 26, 2012. How/why i got engaged. From March 16th to 25th, my ex-girlfriend (current fiance). And I went to a conference that the organization we work for puts on down in Panama City Beach, Florida! We went with a few of our good friends and after having a really great time at the conference, we came to our last night on the trip. We had discussed celebrating our "year and a half anniversary" of dating in Florida and boy did we! While what was communicated there will remain private, I walked...

Mandy Candy: December 2013
http://smandeville.blogspot.com/2013_12_01_archive.html
Tuesday, December 24, 2013. If Christmas wasn't a holiday. 8220;You don’t know what you have until it’s gone” is a paradox. We obviously know what we have because we are currently experiencing “having it”. I think it’s more that you don’t appreciate what you have until it’s gone. If the birth of a small Jewish boy named Jesus in the tiny Middle Eastern country east of the Mediterranean Sea over 2,000 years ago didn’t happen, how different would our lives look? 8220;Remember Red, hope. Instead, the life, ...

Mandy Candy: how expensive is love?
http://smandeville.blogspot.com/2013/01/how-expensive-is-love.html
Tuesday, January 15, 2013. How expensive is love? Gosh i love a good "animal friends" picture. You may as well give her your bass boat, hunting equipment, fry daddy and put your wallet on top and give it to her, because that's what it could cost you. If it doesn't cost you, it isn't love.". The statement was absolute: if love is to be given, there will be a cost. I know that love is a choice, whether we're aware of it or not, to give preference to another person. This tells me that human nature is to con...

Mandy Candy: February 2011
http://smandeville.blogspot.com/2011_02_01_archive.html
Friday, February 25, 2011. I love to be perceived as a genuine, relational, laid back and caring person. if honest, i think we all desire to be looked upon in whatever manner we see as the best way to be. i would also contend that we look at situations and people with a grid of knowledge consisting of what we situationally feel is best. i tend to view things with a short checklist:. 1 does it pertain to me? 2 can i fix this problem? And 3 what can i learn from this? I don't know. but i think we have ...

Mandy Candy: hard to be content
http://smandeville.blogspot.com/2012/06/hard-to-be-content.html
Tuesday, June 19, 2012. Hard to be content. Recently, I was thinking back a few years and thought about what i really wanted at that time in life. Here's what that short list consisted of:. An undisputed, resolved situation with a girl. To build something wooden. I remember thinking "if i can just have these things. I had a fantastic conversation with my friend Newman a couple weekends ago about this and I felt like sharing what we thought through. 1 Remember how this went down before. I was out mowing y...

Mandy Candy: June 2011
http://smandeville.blogspot.com/2011_06_01_archive.html
Saturday, June 4, 2011. Redwoods and big waves. Something i'm fascinated by is how big things can be. this summer, i've been so incredibly blessed to be working in northern california in a smaller city called santa cruz. the two things that santa cruz is known for is it's big waves and big trees. various surfer magazines call this the number one surfing spot in the country (i wouldn't know yet, the water is 55 degrees at best! Rocket. i know every "carpe diem" person threw up when they heard that, bu...

Mandy Candy: Black Monday
http://smandeville.blogspot.com/2013/01/black-monday.html
Saturday, January 5, 2013. It's just an unfortunate part of that industry and while I think it's sad, it reveals to me a pattern of thought that exists in my life, and our society as a whole:. What have you done for me lately? At some point those teams thought "You're skills are what we need. Here's millions of dollars, will you bring us a trophy? And while it took different periods of time, the eventual response was uniform: "you're fired.". As your thinking about the new year, please join in me resolvi...
