Running Adventures in the Last Frontier. Tag: Ultrarunning (page 1 of 4). Running an Ultra on Minimal Training. January 20, 2015. The first weekend of January, I ran the Frosty Bottom 50. Let me go back and explain what happened:. After about 10 days, I was feeling mostly back to normal – just in time to take a 10 day vacation to Hawaii! Around and Around I Go. July 31, 2014. Was looking to organize a multi-day event at an indoor track. The Dome. In Anchorage quickly drew his attention. This race really ...

You will not die, It's not poison: A New Project
http://hammer-rocknroll-money.blogspot.com/2009/02/new-project.html
You will not die, It's not poison. The rantings and ravings of a recovering runner. Wednesday, February 11, 2009. I know I haven't even gotten around to finishing my Nepal trip posts! So this time I am taking it easy. Just like running a marathon taking 'baby steps' is the easiest way to the finish. For the last couple of weekends I spent my time on hands and knees putting in a new tile floor in my bathroom. Here are the before, during and after shots. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). You will not die, It's not poison: Foolish Hiking Plans
http://hammer-rocknroll-money.blogspot.com/2008/08/foolish-hiking-plans.html
You will not die, It's not poison. The rantings and ravings of a recovering runner. Tuesday, August 12, 2008. The best laid plans can bring happiness, peace and maybe even enlightenment. The worst laid plans can bring at the very least an uncomfortable, adventurous, and epic experience. I recall thinking, why not just head for the closest rain-shadow area and hope for clearing weather! Unfortunately, loops are not easy to plan, especially when you are in the mood to hike around 15-20 miles a day! So I to...

You will not die, It's not poison: The In Between
http://hammer-rocknroll-money.blogspot.com/2008/11/in-between.html
You will not die, It's not poison. The rantings and ravings of a recovering runner. Wednesday, November 19, 2008. Even though the road does not go thru I was surprised at how many tourist/trekkers I saw who took up positions inside the ubiquitous Land Rovers. Below Jomsom, where there is a small airport, I saw almost no hiking trekkers. It seems many of my previous trail compatriots from before the Thorung La either escaped the wilderness via the airport or gave up on hoofing it down canyon. Honk, Everyt...

You will not die, It's not poison. The rantings and ravings of a recovering runner. Monday, June 30, 2008. Summer Has Finally Arrived! This last weekend I went on my first backpacking trip of the summer season and boy was it a scorcher! Summer has finally arrived with a vengeance with 80's in the mountains and 90's in the lowlands. The summit smelled a bit like a barnyard but I guess that is the price you pay for having the ubiquitous mountain goats in the mountains, where they belong. View my complete p...

You will not die, It's not poison: Honk, Everything Will Be Ok!

You will not die, It's not poison. The rantings and ravings of a recovering runner. Tuesday, November 04, 2008. Honk, Everything Will Be Ok! If the title makes no sense, then I guess you haven't experienced the Nepali karmic solution to dangerous driving conditions. Since I arrived in Kathmandu just before the beginning of Dashain. I think on day 4 the clouds cleared and the canyons started to open up into the large Manang valley. I took my friends' (Ana and Keith) advice and walked to Upper Pisang i...

You will not die, It's not poison. The rantings and ravings of a recovering runner. Monday, July 14, 2008. Sun, Saltwater and Semi-Solitude. The trip out to the island was relatively uneventful if not extraordinarily beautiful. There was just enough breeze to cool me. Not enough to build any big waves. The absolutely blue sky melted into the slightly darker blue bay-waters. Fish were jumping and I was smiling:-). I spent the evening watching the water turn different shades of blue. Eflat alto trail runner. Life on and off the trail and finding balance in it all. Thursday, June 26, 2008. On cancellation of Western States '08:. Life is what happens when you're making other plans. There was another somewhat appropriate quote from Marat/Sade. On getting violently ill from food poisoning and recovering:. And sipping Nuun today to rebalance the electrolytes is a good lesson too. Labels: trail running ultralessons. Tuesday, June 24, 2008. I left the house around 8 and ran by the parade.
