Behind Enemy Lines Podcast: GENCON 2015
http://bel-podcast.blogspot.com/2015/08/gencon-2015.html
Arguably THE biggest weekend on the gaming calendar, with possibly Essen matching it, happens around the beginning of August in Indianapolis. It's GENCON and it just keeps getting bigger and bigger! We didn't manage to make it this year but plots are afoot to make 2016 a reality, so we've hunted down some wrap-ups and sneak peeks for you. From what I've read online and seen on Twitter etc, gaming has a future and the future is MASSIVE! FFG keep going from strength to strength as well, even after 20 years!

Behind Enemy Lines Podcast: Recording an Episode
http://bel-podcast.blogspot.com/2015/08/recording-episode.html
All sorts of shenanigans go on behind the scenes when we're recording an episode of Behind Enemy Lines. Not everything that we talk about makes it on to the episode and we also take a few photos along the way. Something we'll be doing more of is showing you inside the inner workings of what we do. Here's a bit of a photo dump from the recording of episode 13.and as you can see, we don't take ourselves too seriously at all! I tweeted this photo to Subway and they actually replied! http://lavajohnpaintlog.blogspot.com/2015/08/week-31-back-at-desk.html
A place to track my painting progress, geeky purchases and more. Usually updates Sundays with occasional weekday posts. Sunday, 2 August 2015. Week 31 - Back at the Desk. Its been a little while (again) since I was able to get some painting done, but I have another commission so I needed to clear a path to get some work done. I have another 10 circle models on the books to complete so they have had a bit of attention the last couple days. I also got the last couple details on my Dreadball Xtreme. Death M...

Scary Biscuits Studios: DanCon 2014
http://www.scarybiscuitsstudios.com/2014/01/dancon-2014.html
Monday, January 27, 2014. Today I attended the greatest Flames Of War event held in the Southern Hemisphere. I speak, of course, of the illustrious DanCon 2014, hosted by the standup gents of TCOW (That Club Out West). The event was a three-game tournament (1250 points) with entirely random mission selection with some general guide lines. True to form, Dan, over at KingDan's Place. And the TCOW guys delivered an excellent easy-going event. I ended up taking this silly little list:. Add 3x Rifle teams.

Tuesday, December 30, 2014. 2014: A Year In Review. Well, its that time of the year again. Time to look back and reflect on highlights of the year, then realize the hopelessness of New Years Resolutions, and finally make hollow promises for the following year. Well, what can I say about 2014? Well it was a quiet one on the blog, with my lowest post count for a full year. Whys that? So what did I get done this year? Lets have a look. Scary Biscuits Studios: Closing Time ...
http://www.scarybiscuitsstudios.com/2015/07/closing-time.html
Thursday, July 16, 2015. This Age of Sigmar thing is really, really. Interesting to follow. I can't think of another time where a AAA game system has plunged itself into it's own End Times and then reinvented itself (for better or worse). Like it or hate it, you have to recognize this as major event in our collective wargaming hobby. 1 I'd like to try Age of Sigmar out for myself. 2 Warhammer is now more accessible for me. And soon on an app), and contrary to the rumors and fears, all of the classic fact...

Scary Biscuits Studios: A Busy Weekend!
http://www.scarybiscuitsstudios.com/2015/02/a-busy-weekend.html
Sunday, February 22, 2015. The weekend past was a busy one in terms of hobby fun. Between BattleCry, the Howick Military Tattoo, and a TCOW meeting, there were a lot of reenacters firing weapons either by using dice or black powder. I didn't end up playing this year because I had a lot on all weekend. But I did want to make it in to score one of these bad boys from the Mighty Ape. Gav ran the Flames tournament and it was good to see both familiar and new faces. There were some nice looking Napoleonic and...
