Visual Art with Math and Science in Mind. I began Cycle 1 with an interactive video of Starry Night. Followed by a guided drawing using the 4 quadrant grid method. As students painted, I reminded them daily to think like a scientist while mixing and applying the paint. There was a mid-process discussion critique where students began talking to each other about the results of their color experiments. When the paintings were complete, students completed a peer critique and artist reflection.
