Institute of Brain and Mind Education. 香港仍有很多朋友將 Brain-Based Learning 譯為全腦學習法, 實質上全腦學習是八十年代基於左右腦研究初發展時, 針對教育似乎只側重左腦發展而起的名稱- Whole Brain Learning , 但隨著造影技術及功能性磁力共震掃描技術的盛行, 腦科學家們修正左右腦的理論, 如數學家解決數學問題時, 被發現左右腦均有活動, 而人腦處理任何事情都似乎是腦部不同部份的合作, 不能簡單而論屬左或右腦; 還有人腦能力的發展和學習是偏向用最少的腦部資源解決問題, 因此促使其常以全腦運作似乎亦不大合理, 故此全腦學習這名稱已很少再被使用. 再者, Brain-Based Learning 並非一套學習法, 它是基於科學對人腦的研究而得出的學理, 隨著新的研究和發現而不斷更新, 而透過這些腦科學的知識從而檢視教育模式或方法是否合理和有效, 因此, 它不是記憶法, 也不是腦圖和健腦操. 與腦有關的行為/情緒問題(hyperactive, conduct disorder, depression, ).
