Teacher, I Don't Get It: June 2011
http://chronicleofayoungteacher.blogspot.com/2011_06_01_archive.html
Teacher, I Don't Get It. Friday, June 24, 2011. Random Thoughts and Apologies. I leave tomorrow, for a week. Don't expect to hear from me for a week. Not that you would, I guess I have been quiet lately. I get like that. Either metal will crush me or I will escape under it." I thought that maybe this was it, and then I thought, "Well, I will see what happens next." I wasn't afraid, but I wasn't sure either. Would God be waiting for me? Perhaps Hell or maybe nothing? I just didn't know. What do the things...

Teacher, I Don't Get It: May 2011
http://chronicleofayoungteacher.blogspot.com/2011_05_01_archive.html
Teacher, I Don't Get It. Thursday, May 26, 2011. It was the last day of school for students today. There are some that I will miss, but it has been a long year in some ways. Let me just preface this with the fact that I got a lot of lovely notes, cards, and heart felt thank-yous on the last day of school, but I got my first ever "unthankyou." There is really no other way to describe what transpired. I just called to say that basically this school year sucked! Wednesday, May 25, 2011. Would You Believe It.

Teacher, I Don't Get It. Sunday, September 18, 2011. Will you come in and help me? I really don't know what to say.". The words felt unnatural coming out of my mouth because I don't really ask for help at work or in life. However, I really wanted to be absolved of all responsibility to discuss the death of this parent with a room full of eight and nine year olds. I really don't know what to say? Teacher, I Don't Get It. Sunday, January 30, 2011. To teach or not to teach, that is the question. I haven't even had the option of teaching summer school the past two summers because I have been in school myself finishing my Master of Ed. I could really use the money, but I really really don't want to do it. Saturday, January 29, 2011. I am getting the cold that everyone else already has. I tell you this in so you won't expect anything insightful or coherent out of this post. It's going to be more l...

My budding love of teaching, stemming from my larger love of math and learning. Thursday, August 25, 2011. The Bully, the Bullied and the Bystander. Ever heard of her? If not look her up. She is a educator, who speaks about parenting, conflict resolution, and bullying. She spoke to our students about bullying, they seemed engaged, but let's see if what she said translates to our school culture. She then spoke to parents and community members. Again, she had great things to say. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).
