Ahn nyeong from Anyang, South Korea: July 2012
http://lanainkorea.blogspot.com/2012_07_01_archive.html
Wednesday, July 11, 2012. Who’s the worst blogger in the world? Raises hand: This girl! Time in Korea is a funny concept in that it moves really fast. In fact, everything in Korea happens at super speed- driving, eating, walking, grocery store lines (I like this one), etc. Well, I feel like it’s been moving even faster than usual lately and I think it’s because spring brought wonderful weather and now summer is bringing even more. Talk about being spoiled…. Posted by Lana Lee. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).

Across the Other Pond: Life in Daegu, SK. Friday, January 21, 2011. Have a Fish Snack! The bus is provided by DMOE and I catch it down the street near Bisan-negore (Bisan junction). I normally head toward Seomun Market and downtown when I leave my house so my morning walk to the other side of my neighborhood provides me with new sights everyday. Hmm, where should I put my bike? In between all those drying fish over there. Koreans have an unusual affinity for dried seafood. You can find stands peddlin...

Across the Other Pond: Life in Daegu, SK. Saturday, February 26, 2011. Earlier that morning, I felt those initial pangs of sickness and messaged my friend Shannon. That I must fight this! So I thought I was doing fine until we went to Outback and faced an hour wait. So what was the solution? And 2 for antibiotics. Plus, if you're employed through EPIK you can enjoy the benefits of your medical insurance (you know, that deduction they take out of your paycheck every month? Tuesday, February 8, 2011. UPDAT...

Across the Other Pond: Life in Daegu, SK. Tuesday, August 31, 2010. I wished for a yellow-haired teacher! Medical exams, opening bank accounts, buying furniture, and taking care of all the little things, that I don't have time for social interaction. Yeah, I know, I said that. Who knew? How old are you? Which when I said 22 caused quited a stir, I still don't know why), and then the stranger questions like, "How tall are you? And "You like kimchi? I smiled and said, "Well, now you've got one! Well, this ...

Wednesday, July 20, 2011. In Transit: Too Much Down Time. It must be my lucky day because there is then a taxi sitting right outside my building. The driver stuffs my heavy suitcase in his trunk. He also asks if I am returning. When I convey a positive response (our conversation was mainly made up of hand motions), he shakes my hand with endearing gratitude. It was quite sweet, actually. Now wish me luck because I have major airplane anxiety! Posted by Lana Lee. Monday, July 18, 2011. A giant update: pla...

Sunday, October 28, 2012. Passing me now is a campus couple. A campus couple in Korea is a couple wearing the same thing- the same sweatshirt, same hat or sometime even the same shoes. I guess they have campus couples in Japan too! Or maybe they are also headed back to Korea. Stewardesses pass, either having just arrived off a flight or heading toward one that is departing. If they work for an Asian airline, you would never know the difference because of their high level of professionalism. I recently re...
