My First Blog: Buying a digital Camera?

Thursday, July 29, 2010. Buying a digital Camera? I found this site. Well before I purchased my personal camera and found it by far the most useful. It broke down all the technical jargon, asked me to reflect on my photography skills and then gave me a self-scoring quiz to do. Based on my score it suggested several cameras that would meet my needs. I eventually bought one from the list it suggested and have never wished for more features nor did I feel I over-purchased. My First Blog: Shapes
http://photomurmurs.blogspot.com/2010/07/shapes.html
Monday, July 26, 2010. Shapes are 2D elements that are included within photo. Shapes, much like lines, can be used to achieve different feelings or moods within your photos. Rectangles and circles alone come off as boring as they tend to be ordinary and usually mirror the frame of your image. Diagonals and triangles create conflicts to the rectangular frame of a picture and therefore attract the viewers eye. Take a look at the picture on tomorrow's front page of the paper. Bet you it is someone stand...

http://paulettesbakingblog.blogspot.com/2010_08_01_archive.html
Wednesday, August 18, 2010. Tip of the Day. When rolling out pie dough, put the dough between two pieces of plastic or in a plastic bag. After you have finished rolling, you can easily pick up the dough and flip it into your pie pan – no sticking to your counter. Try this cake for a refreshing summer treat. It’s so easy and very tasty. 183; 1 package yellow cake mix. 183; 1 small package lemon Jell-O. 183; ¾ cup water. 183; ¾ cup oil. 183; 4 eggs (whisk each egg one at a time). 183; 2 cups powdered sugar.

My First Blog: Lines in Composition
http://photomurmurs.blogspot.com/2010/07/lines-in-composition.html
Thursday, July 22, 2010. Lines serve 2 extremely important purposes in the composition of photographs. Firstly, lines create mood. A vertical line can create a sense of power or tension by chopping up a picture, a horizontal line can create a sense of peace or calmness or a curved line can create a sense of balance. Put more than one type of line in a photograph and they can either enhance each others effect or they can contradict and counteract an effect you may have been going for. Wow, there is so muc...

Wednesday, July 21, 2010. Tip of the Week. When mixing sticky, goopy ingredients (molasses, honey, peanut butter), try spraying the measuring cups with non-stick spray first (just lightly). The ingredients will come out easier. Besides being delicious, this cake is very easy to double or cut in half because there is an even number of every ingredient. If you cut it in half, just use an 8x8 pan. 2 cups of flour. 2 cups of sugar. 2 teaspoons of baking soda. 1 20 oz can of crushed pineapple (don't drain).
