Teaching in Tagalog.

Saturday, February 21, 2015. My nearest and dearest,. Guess who's back. Back again! Well I'm home and despite the freezing temperatures, I'm glad to be here! Seeing my family in the Philippines and being able to share with them a taste of what I've been doing for the last 18 months was amazing and something I will never forget. My mission and all of my experiences have filled a hole in my heart that I didn't know I had. It has helped me see past myself and open up to a whole new culture. Monday, January ...

Teaching in Tagalog.: October 2014

http://www.teachingintagalog.blogspot.com/2014_10_01_archive.html

Monday, October 27, 2014. My dearest peeps :). Being able to teach His word in Tagalog is another blessing. There were so many times at the beginning of my mission that I did not understand the words that were coming out of my mouth but I knew that Lord had loosened my tongue and was using me to teach what the people needed to hear. Now, when someone asks me to pray in English, I can't hardly do it! In the last verse of D&C 31, it says, "Be faithful unto the end, and lo, I am with you.". I love you all!

Teaching in Tagalog.: Early Christmas Present!

http://www.teachingintagalog.blogspot.com/2014/12/early-christmas-present.html

Monday, December 22, 2014. Christmas came early this year! We were able to talk with Marissa via Google Hangouts last night. Marissa's mission president allows the missionaries to call home on their P-day rather than Christmas day because all of the internet cafes are closed for the holiday. This year, we were spread out all over the country and world! We are so excited for that! Marissa looks so happy! It was the middle of the night for Meg! Even Macy got to chat with Marissa! I want to extend a special...

Monday, November 24, 2014. I Love the Book of Mormon! Ang Pamilya and mga Kaibigan Ko,. I love what President Ezra Taft Benson said regarding the Book of Mormon, "We do not have to prove the Book of Mormon is true. The book is it's own proof. All we need to do is read it and declare it! The Book of Mormon is not on trial- the people of the world, including members of the church - are on trial as to what they will do with this Second Witness for Christ.". Do you remember Sister Hart from Australia? There ...

Teaching in Tagalog.: May 2014

http://www.teachingintagalog.blogspot.com/2014_05_01_archive.html

Monday, May 26, 2014. Well another transfer has come and gone and I guess it was my time to leave good ol' Orion! I got transferred from the furthest south zone to one of the northernmost zones! Transfer day was full of fun with only one hour of sleep (waking up at 4 am) and about 10 hours of travel time! I finally arrived in Masinloc and got my first glimpse at my new companion, Sister Gonzales! Before I go on about my new area, I'll give a shout our to my old area, Orion! I hate getting rid of anything!

Teaching in Tagalog.: April 2014

http://www.teachingintagalog.blogspot.com/2014_04_01_archive.html

Monday, April 28, 2014. Question of the Week. The other day I was asked a very simple question but it really make me stop and think. "Sister Miller, why did you decide to serve a mission? Instantly a million things went running through my head. I remembered my first EFY camp when I was 14 years old where I bore my testimony and said with a surety, "I will go on a mission when I grow up! Little by little, I started to lose the passion I once had to serve a mission. And "Can you believe it? Looking back on...

Adam Archer's Amazing African Adventure

Adam Archer's Amazing African Adventure. As I sit preparing my lessons for the upcoming week, it strikes me how different the neccesary skill sets are for success in Tanzania and here in America. Posted 1 year ago. This was a fun day! We decided that a hands on experience was the way to go. We wrote out a note on a small piece of paper and Terry took it to the road, maybe 200 yards away. I focused the telescope on Terry and the note in particular. It was an awesome experience! I could see you! Being home...

Teaching in Tennis Shoes

Teaching in Tennis Shoes. A glance into a teacher's life. Habit of the Week. August 8, 2014. Habit of the Week. I think it is so important to teach children good manners. Manners and good habits are a life skill that so many children don’t get at home. So many students come to school everyday without every being taught any good habits. For years I have tried to tell students what isn’t appropriate as they are doing it, but it is in one ear and out the other. Comments are always welcome. August 8, 2014.
