Teaching in Thailand

The currency dilemna becomes reality. So if the Yen continues to appreciate, Toyota leaves. Presumably others follow. If you’re the Japanese government, how do you not try to devalue your currency? If you’re Germany, for example, and you see Japan devaluing their currency, how do you not try to push for the same for the Euro? As you can see, once one country adamantly starts this cycle, it will only lead to a domino effect to other countries. But then again, if you’re Japan, what else do you do? I now co...

Teaching in Thailand Venture

Teaching in Thailand Venture. Tuesday, July 7, 2009. My 5 day vacation went by pretty quickly at Ko Phi Phi. The highlight of that island was hands down the scuba diving Jeff and I tried yesterday. It was quite an experience. The downfall was that I got super seasick after my first dive. And then again after my second dive. =(. However, despite that gross experience, the marine life we are were all very amazing! More of island pics to come! Sunday, July 5, 2009. Friday, June 26, 2009. Anyhoo, I spent all...

Teaching in the Dark

Teaching in the Dark. Two Years Ago Today…. Was my first day as a blogger. It was also the first day of what I’ll call my post-teaching life (even though technically I’ve done some teaching since then). I’m not sure which is more remarkable: how MUCH my life has changed or how LITTLE my life has changed since that day. I’ll be back later today or tomorrow with more to say about ninth grade and. Bless Me, Ultima. But for now, here. 8216;s a piece about what the first day of my post-teaching life felt like.
