Teaching Kids to Love Art

Teaching Kids to Love Art. My Gold Award Service Project! Friday, August 13, 2010. Manitos and Papas (Little hands and potatos). Wednesday. We made potato stamps.as the name suggests it is a stamp made from an uncooked baked potato. Split the potato in half; draw a desired shape (fish, heart, star, letter, flower, ect.); and, using a plastic knife, carve the outside of the shape! The children loved using their stamps with fingerpaint:. I just love this picture. Look at the little boy! He's just so cute!

Teaching Kids to Love Art. My Gold Award Service Project! Saturday, June 19, 2010. I dried all the children's shirts and here's a picture of all of them wearing them for the first time! This week, while I was out of town, Elaine, Hannah and my mom taught the class. They talked about watercolor and the children made two paintings. The first involved painting to music and cutting their paper and sharing their painting with the other kids to make one painting! Here's the group with their finished landscapes!

Teaching Kids to Love Art. My Gold Award Service Project! Friday, August 13, 2010. More pictures from Wednesday. Below are the rest of the pictures from Wednesday, during the finger painting! The children loved getting messy and creating whatever they wanted on paper. I was excited to see how creative they got, often feeding off each other's ideas :). My dad and Lesmond! Paola really gets into it! Even I have the chance to get a little messy! Susan in the Boonies. October 6, 2010 at 8:49 AM.
