They’ve Grown a Little | What's Going On Here?
http://www.whats-going-on-here.com/2014/06/27/theyve-grown-a-little
We Never Meant to Leave America. You Are Here: Home. Raquo; They’ve Grown a Little. They’ve Grown a Little. Written on June 27, 2014. It’s been awhile since you’ve seen the kids, can you tell they’ve grown? They still look out of their eyes at me the same way. I hope that never changes. The rest of their anatomy can just grow up around the portals to their soul and let their eyes remain unchanged. Unjaded. Unblemished. Believing. I figure I still got a few years left. Daisy She’s still fat. Tristan has f...

About Mummy Angie | The Home Library Online
https://thehomelibraryonline.wordpress.com/mummy-angies-speaks
The Home Library Online. The Home Library Online. Was the name of our family’s online bookshop. We started it in 2004 as a way to help parents to build a good home library for their own families. I liked to think of myself as an “advisor” and was given the honourary title “The Book Lady” by fellow parents and homeschoolers in Singapore. We have been here since January 2011. I married my best friend (yes, these things do happen) 7.5 years after we met as colleagues. We have 4 lovely children whom ...I lov...

The Ngs, The Domus Academy, The Home Library. December 2, 2009. The sale, which I announced exactly 3 weeks ago, has had me working harder than I have ever worked in my life! D Thank you for your support of the sale. We went from 33 shelves to just 6 in that time! That’s 2000 books to just 400! It made me think that maybe we should do this every year just for the adrenaline rush! Speaking of which …. TEACHING OUR OWN dot COM. This is the last Domus Academy post. :(. For those who haven’t asked but ...
A Pilgrim's Heart: Pulling Together An Education On The Road
http://a-pilgrims-heart.blogspot.com/2012/02/pulling-together-education-on-road.html
Recording the memories and milestones of our homeschooling journey. Friday, February 10, 2012. Pulling Together An Education On The Road. So what are we doing? Not having any of my usual curriculum, books and supplies has meant that I have had to improvise. This is the part in which I could wax lyrical about the beauty of internet access! Below is a look at how we are doing school:. We are carrying on with our daily devotions and I am using the character studies from. Confessions of a Homeschooler. I was...

A Grandmother's Journey
My Grandmother taught me to look to God for the answers to everything. These posts are things she taught me and things that I have learned on my own. For my Grandchildren, Karina, Gavin, Ethan and Cory. I love. 8220;Only take care, and keep your soul diligently, lest you forget the things that your eyes have seen, and lest they depart from your heart all the days of your life. Make them known to your children and your children's children—Deuteronomy 4:9. Saturday, August 20, 2011. Links to this post.
Teaching Our Hearts Out
Teaching Our Hearts Out. Classroom Setup – Part 1. Classroom Setup – Part 1. Pictures will come in part 2. Here, I’m going to be talking about the pedagogy I’ve been exploring as I’ve been setting up my classroom. First, let me start by saying that we still have 2 solid weeks before school starts. The last time I had my classroom set up this early was the year that I got married (tomorrow’s our anniversary), and I didn’t want to worry about school stuff on our honeymoon. And then I read this. So I imagin...

Adventures in teaching
Friday, March 8, 2013. I know it won't be much at first, but I also know that I cannot stand aside and wait to get my tenure before I make some changes. Sunday, March 3, 2013. Sunday, February 24, 2013. The wall of policy. I recently read one of Spencer's blog posts Why aren't teachers more innovative. That last sentence is truly frightening. How, as a brand new teacher, am I to stand up for what I believe in without losing my job? Sunday, February 17, 2013. Photo by Mom's Clean Air Force. Which had some...
Teaching Our Own | Just another WordPress.com weblog
Just another WordPress.com weblog. August 29, 2013. This is what our kids look like now. Don’t they grow fast? So yes, things have been quiet around here. So much so that my dear husband remarked the other day that it has been a LONG time since I blogged. And he went on urging and urging me to keep blogging, saying what a pity it was that I stopped, since he keeps sending people to the blog. :). Well … yes it HAS been a long time since I posted anything to this. People used to come to us for advice on wh...

Effectiveness vs. Faithfulness. April 4, 2015. April 4, 2015. Natalie K. James. As April arrives and brings with it the pressure of standardized testing, budget reviews, and expectations (sometimes) unmet, I have been feeling very. Since I am fairly certain that I am not alone, I thought I would share this bit of wisdom from Parker Palmer. Will be carried into adulthood and beyond, because they are similar to the life changing experience that we had growing up. Faithfulness must trump effectiveness.
