Realizing that home, with its benefits, also has some setbacks, i'm more ready to leave at this point than i was a few weeks ago. two suitcases, a duffel bag, and a backpack later, i am all packed up. What i'm excited about the most is what the schedule is going to be like- how challenging it will be. the days are said to look something like this:. 7:30am - arrive at school to set-up summer school classroom. 8:00am-1:30 - teach in small groups. Monday, May 22, 2006. I'm pretty terrible with anxiety, especially late at night when there's no one to talk to. I have a little over two weeks to prepare to move to Houston, Texas to begin Teach for America. There When I arrive, Induction begins right away, followed by Institute- one and a half months of hardcore training (they've made it clear that even JULY 4TH is a work day- and this is Teach for America, people.). At least the job pays. I suppose this is what I get for being an overachiever.
