Unknowing | Lisa Harford1

https://scribbledinhaste.wordpress.com/2016/10/07/unknowing

October 7, 2016. It has created a central part of me and what I know is that I couldn’t rid myself of those things even if I wanted to! So although I will always think of myself as a Primary teacher, I am currently plunged into the depths of ‘unknowing’ by teaching in a Secondary school and I am trying out my theory on a grand scale! But what do you know? 8211; turns out I do. My move to Secondary feels really positive so far. It has given me the best possible professional development. I like...You are c...

Stuff I’ve written – The Muddled Manuscript

http://muddledmanuscript.co.uk/stuff-ive-written

What I’m Writing Linky. Stuff I’ve written. Stuff I’ve written. I decided, in 2000, to begin my first novel. Alias is a story about a dual identity, a crime which wasn’t committed and the brutal kidnapping and torture of Deanna and her own struggle against her insanity and Stockholm Syndrome. The writing of this book co-incided with the writing of my second novel, as yet unnamed romance featuring a teenager and her childish infatuation with her teacher. These two combined took me ten years. This was very...

Small Talk | Honest Speaks

Writing People Poetry… and everything in between. September 15, 2015. We both throw words on the table. An almost formed thought. I catch the abstract. Try to reframe it. He nods and in our own way. We both reclaim it. Her eyes don’t match her tone. Warm words are offered and she accepts. The gentle heat will make her stronger. Once we’ve heard and held her. 8220;I’m glad”. Her smile lights her eyes. She shares more small parts. Revealing some of her soul. And we strengthen the collective whole. Love you...

Become an informed educator… but for goodness sake, don’t become an expert. November 1, 2016. So beware research-teachers everywhere. In using evidence-based practice so that we might be taken seriously at last, we may find that at the end of the journey it is the very thing used to consign us to the irrelevance of the expert in the field…that is, if some politicians get their way. Ps This will make you giggle! I couldn’t resist 😉. November 5, 2016 at 12:17 pm. Liked by 1 person. Thank you for your thou...

Teaching Outsider

Thursday, January 13, 2011. Teaching New Year's Resolution? Teaching is indeed a tough job (I submit our high rate of quitting as evidence - half of teachers quit within their first 5 years of teaching, according to the Washington Post. I expect the more deviant kids to question everything I do, especially in the first few weeks of this. However, I also expect my content to be meaningful enough to be worth their time. I wonder if the average high school teacher would be willing to do this. Http:/ geekaca...

TinkerPlots Dynamic Data Exploration Software. June 24, 2013. Setting the Font Size in TinkerPlots. Yesterday, I was messing around (instead of grading quizzes) and noticed the Preferences Menu. I was pleasantly surprised to learn that I can control the font size used in the case cards and case tables. I can increase the font to 18, which would be great when projecting in class, and I can decrease the font to 11, which would be better for printing. Tuesday, May 19, 2015. Just don’t give up and don’t worry what others think. Just do what makes you happy. Sunday, May 10, 2015. I am no longer a preschool teacher so that is why this blog hasn't had any post in a really long time. I choose to quit my job to focus on school full time. I'm starting my senior year of school! Maybe I'll keep this blog around to update for my classes and show some of the projects I've been working on. We will see how much time I have this summer and the upcoming year. The ho...
