Staying Healthy | Teaching With ADHD

https://teachingwithadhd.wordpress.com/2013/09/16/staying-healthy

September 16, 2013 · Filed under Uncategorized. 183 Tagged sick days. Ended up having to take a sick day today, due to an asthma flare up. Despite the flare up, I still remain fairly healthy. A minor miracle given I work with 150 germ carriers, many who have younger siblings who swim in other germ pools, combined with a somewhat compromised immune system. If and when I do become sick, it is almost always a cold that gets into my lungs. I am usually one of the last to get sick in my building. Good tips&#4...

Teacher gifts | Teaching With ADHD

April 21, 2014 · Filed under gifts/ appreciation. 183 Tagged teacher gifts. I don’t know about how things are going at your school, but right now, at mine, moral is pretty low. We are in the middle of testing, not quite halfway between spring break and the end of the year. Everyone is pretty run down. I like to cheer people up. Often, on hard days I send a small piece of candy to the other teachers. Just a little “pick me up.”. Aren’t they cute? I love my TA’s! 2 Responses so far ». I think I am going to...

Summer Bucket/ To Do list. June 2, 2014 · Filed under Summer. 183 Tagged solar urticaria. Not going to lie, having severe solar urticaria (sun allergy) means summer can be something of a let down. I must stay inside and avoid the sun. This greatly limits what I can do. Being on a budget also limits things. Currently I don’t know what I will be teaching come fall (or where) so I can’t do a ton of preparing. I am currently in the developing stage and have 4 categories:. That’s it so far. A clean toilet | Teaching With ADHD

https://teachingwithadhd.wordpress.com/2014/04/19/a-clean-toilet

April 19, 2014 · Filed under Apartment. 183 Tagged cleaning. moving. I am in the process of moving. A lot of things about moving are out of my control. My asthma and allergies have flared up. A lot. It takes everything I have each and every day to get through the day. However, my toilet bowl has reached frightening levels. We have hard water (prior to moving to eastern Oregon, I didn’t really understand hard water). Rust and lime and calcium and all sorts of build had occurred. FYI-It took a sponge, rubb...

Summer and changes | Teaching With ADHD

https://teachingwithadhd.wordpress.com/2014/07/13/summer-and-changes

July 13, 2014 · Filed under Uncategorized. In late February/ early March I was informed that living in eastern Oregon was endangering my health. I was told I needed to leave, prior to the end of the school year. This was heart wrenching and devastating. Lots of tears were shed (and not just on my part). The choice was clear, move or get sicker and potentially experience a fatal reaction. So, tons of changes going on. I have been making the pest of my confinement. We have a huge garden in a fairly small b...

Saturday, August 1, 2015. A NEW Task Card Storage Idea and Early Finisher Activities. Sometimes, inspiration comes to us in the most unusual places. For me, my latest task card storage inspiration was at an antique mall! I was spending the afternoon perusing the booths with my favorite girls and kept seeing those beautiful library card catalog chests. Oh, how I swoon over those! Someday one will adorn my home office! But another little goody I kept seeing were card holders! Now that I have this fancy car...
