I know I struggle with knowing this and feel sure that others do as well. Through my coursework, I discovered a little trick that can help students and teachers know if the book is just right for them. It is called the five finger rule. 1 Have the student choose a book that they will enjoy. 2 Have them read the second page (or any page in the middle of the text).
