Where Learning is FUN! Pictures of Our Room. Monday, August 27, 2012. Mission Possible for Students! 3rd grade teachers at my school teamed up to create a video to introduce a top secret mission for students. Warning: the video is super corny, but the kiddos LOVED it, which is what matters most anyway! We may never be internet sensations, but we may end up on Tosh.0's web redemption feature:) Who knows? Check out our video HERE! Posted by Jen W. Sunday, August 26, 2012. Welcome Back to School! Then stude...

First Grade Spies: Superhero centers and a sale...
http://firstgradespies.blogspot.com/2013/04/superhero-centers-and-sale.html
Sunday, April 14, 2013. Superhero centers and a sale. By this time of the year our students are awesome at their daily 5 and center rotations! They have stamina, and they know where to go and what they should be working on - but they still need some variety so I created these superhero themed activities to jazz up my word work centers. This Superhero Nouns, Verbs and Adjectives. Another fun superhero center is this Superhero Sentences. Both of these "Super" centers are on sale this week at my TPT store.

Sunday, July 31, 2016. Colorful Organization and Cleaning Caddies. Hi - I can not believe how long it has been since I blogged last! Well leave it to Tara at 4th Grade Frolics. To motivate me to post to her awesome Made It Monday linky! My first project was to transform my old yucky black in boxes! Honestly, when I packed up my classroom at the end of the year I was going to throw them out and go purchase new white ones from Staples! So I cleaned them off and got to work spray painting them! First Grade Spies: Classroom Library Organization - New and Improved!
http://firstgradespies.blogspot.com/2014/07/classroom-library-organization-new-and.html
Saturday, July 5, 2014. Classroom Library Organization - New and Improved! I hope you are all having a restful summer! I am busy tackling my very long summer list of things to do…. The biggest project so far has been a revamp of my classroom library and thanks to my awesome teammate, I think I have finally found a system that is going to work for me and my students. I made a sign showing the category and number (12) for the basket and put a sticker on each book and wrote a number 12 on it the sticker.

I know most teachers do too - so I just had to share my latest dollar store creations with you all! We use our computers everyday in the classroom and I love students to be able to do research using the computers and listen to stories online during our Daily 5! First Grade Spies: Blizzard inspired Measurement Freebie
http://firstgradespies.blogspot.com/2016/01/blizzard-inspired-measurement-freebie.html
Sunday, January 24, 2016. Blizzard inspired Measurement Freebie. Wow - we just had ourselves a Blizzard in Maryland and all over the east coast! School was closed on Friday in preparation and has been closed already for Monday and Tuesday! I was inspired during the snow day on Friday and came up with a fun way to track how much snow we were getting using some non-standard measurements! So, naturally I ran up to the dollar store to gather some supplies! I was ready for the snow to come! 4 1/2 markers deep.

Creating Bookworms: Creating Bookworms In Our Community
http://creatingbookworms.blogspot.com/2015/07/creating-bookworms-in-our-community.html
Friday, July 31, 2015. Creating Bookworms In Our Community. It is not enough to simply teach children to read; we have to give them something worth reading. Something that will stretch their imaginations-Something that will help them make sense of their own lives and encourage them to reach out toward people whose lives are quite different from their own.". We had a truly amazing day. We were able to touch close to 30 children. The children were excited to see friendly faces from their school....I was...

Sunday, September 9, 2012. Let the Learning Safari Begin. Tomorrow will be my 10th day at school with my students. I have 24 amazing children. We have spent the past two weeks building a community of workers, thinkers and readers based on RESPECT! My all time favorite book to read to the class at the beginning of the year is Swimmy. This is a wonderful story of how we can work together despite our differences. This year my students have loved My Mouth is a Volcano by Julia Cook. These are my POWER Books!
