Secondary teaching and smiling? February 22, 2015. Being a kinaesthetic and visual learner, I’m in two minds about blended learning. I can see it adds insight to ‘ lessons’ but I feel that guided learning from a physical classroom is my bag! I do truly acknowledge that my interaction with technology needs a lot of work, and yes, I’m working on it, so I have no doubt that my judgement is coloured…at the moment 😊😊😀. Though this style of learning can require a lot of self motivation and self discipline of the learner it can in turn be greatly rewarding, with the learner gaining new skills and knowledge themselves. As a new trainee teacher and wanting to develop my practice to become an outstanding teacher, i find embedding IT into lessons a challenge and not always possible for the activity especially outdoors. I can really see the benefit especially in demonstration and also for analysis of technique and development for students, especially in more technical sports such as swimming and racket sports.

Being away from the classroom and then completing work set by your tutor instead of attending class, is a great flexible way of engaging all learners, however dependant on your group is it always feasible?
