Assisting Descubrimiento: September 2013
http://assistingdescubrimiento.blogspot.com/2013_09_01_archive.html
Saturday, September 21, 2013. My Donor's Choose project was funded! Thanks for all the help, once again. Each time I am completely floored by everyone's generosity and selflessness. Honestly, our classrooms would not be possible without the incredible help we get from the community. We just finished up doing our Citizenship Unit and we're full steam ahead developing a Weather unit! In the meantime, you can get them in my TpT store. Sunday, September 8, 2013. I've done it again! I think it is incredibly i...

Assisting Descubrimiento: September 2015
http://assistingdescubrimiento.blogspot.com/2015_09_01_archive.html
Tuesday, September 29, 2015. Holy moly guys, it's been a year and a half since I have posted ANYTHING on my blog. Can you believe that? I'm not sure if that speaks more to my time management or to the hectic nature of my life. A lot has happened in this past year and a half. We have moved, we celebrated anniversaries and life got even crazier. A lot crazier. As in, I can't believe I'm about to say it here. My husband and I are no longer just a married couple. We are now PARENTS (! To a beautiful baby boy!

Sunday, October 27, 2013. It's Fall, Y'all! It's my favorite time of year! I love the grey weather (only for so long) and the sweaters, and the orange, and the fireplaces and the hot chocolate and fuzzy pajamas. Best. Time. Of. Year. Speaking of which, we just finished our weather unit and started a community workers unit last week. If you remember in one of my last posts, I posted a picture of a future pictorial input. Well, here's what the finished product looked like:. My kiddos are growing up so fast!

Assisting Descubrimiento: August 2013
http://assistingdescubrimiento.blogspot.com/2013_08_01_archive.html
Thursday, August 29, 2013. Almost One Week Down! Boy oh boy has this week given me a run for my money. Coming from first grade land, kindergarten land is all "GO GO GO! I plan as though I'm going to get through everything. And for as "GO GO GO" as kinder is, it's not the right kind. Of "GO GO GO". If I don't get one, I'll melt! Again, so cute. The cuteness factor is too much to handle. I really like my front wall, so I wanted to post a picture of it again. My alphabet is from our reading program Estrelli...

Assisting Descubrimiento: Dr. de Soto and The Grinch
http://assistingdescubrimiento.blogspot.com/2013/12/dr-de-soto-and-grinch.html
Thursday, December 12, 2013. Dr de Soto and The Grinch. We are wrapping up our community unit this week and I decided what better way to do that than with a narrative input on Dr. de Soto. To finish out the narrative input (pictures of which are coming, I promise) we made foxes! It was directed art with NO blackline masters! Their work is incredible! And shockingly, NO fox jokes! Here's the background I drew for my narrative input on Dr. de Soto:. Last week, we did The Grinch. Oh boy was that one fun!

Assisting Descubrimiento: May 2013
http://assistingdescubrimiento.blogspot.com/2013_05_01_archive.html
Saturday, May 25, 2013. Thanks to having to go through the BTSA (Beginning Teacher Support and Assessment) program, I have had a lot of time to reflect on my teaching practices. I discovered this year that while I do a lot of self-reflection, my biggest question is always, and most likely will always be, how does my style define me as an educator? How would I best describe my teaching style? How do I see my teaching style best benefitting my students? So what is the solution? Organic learning is what our...

Assisting Descubrimiento: November 2012
http://assistingdescubrimiento.blogspot.com/2012_11_01_archive.html
Monday, November 26, 2012. Ho, Ho, Ho! I foresee several Christmas blogs coming up in the near future, so please, bear with me with the cheesy titles. They will only get better. Today was our first day back from Thanksgiving break and it was nutso! My second graders and I went on a field trip to see our local dance troupe's adaptation of The Nutcracker. And good thing too, they needed it! We then went to lunch! And then more recess! And then my firsties went to English (I teach dual immersion, remember?
