Traveling the broken road. The journey of a girl whose life was turned upside down… only so she could be right side up. April 13, 2009 in reality. The true meaning of life is to plant trees, under whose shade you do not expect to sit. Here is a little food for thought. The video. Only takes two minutes but is very thought provoking. It really puts things in perspective — especially when you think about where and if you would fit into this miniature earth. Putting my heart back together. Life as a hilliard.

garden daze: September 2011

Thursday, September 8, 2011. Sun, Sun, Sun, Here it comes! It's been a long time coming. Looking back now I see how significant and appropriate my last post would become as I longed for some sunlight in the midst of a long winter. There have been so many changes since I was last here. Best of all, I have a wonderful new son! Well, son-in-law to be exact, but we have wished for a son around here for so many years that we will call him son if his delightful parents don't mind! What else is new?

Wednesday, June 24, 2009. Spring Rolls in Summer. One of my favorite ways to use and eat fresh vegetables is spring rolls! I just love the taste bud sensation of cool rice paper wrappers crammed with a vibrant explosion of flavor. Since my garden is overflowing with radishes, snap peas, cilantro, and assorted greens, I can think of no better way to use them then this dish. It takes some time to chop and assemble but it's worth the effort. Spring rolls have become a regular craving for me. Tomatoes and sq...

garden daze: October 2007
http://oneofthosegardendaze.blogspot.com/2007_10_01_archive.html
Tuesday, October 23, 2007. Nothing stays the same. Life is never ever. The same ole game. No sense in getting. Cozy in a favorite spot. For as sure as you do,. Your spot will be moved. Out from under you. And a child leaves home. And your left alone. A puppy moves in. And the cat runs away. Fresh paint for the walls. And boxed dye for the gray. Shouldn’t the garden have. Things in a garden seem. To age with great grace. To fret or pace. The wisdom of the ages. Is displayed in a lawn,. With hearty aplomb,.
