The Inglis Family: Courchevel January 2009
http://theinglisblog.blogspot.com/2009/01/courchevel-january-2009.html
Our pictures and stories. We went to Curchevel 1850 in January, it must be our 16th time, and it was just as good as always. This time we had Freddy and Jenny with us and Harry, who was a friend of Freddy's when they both up at Oxford. It was Jenny's first time on skiis so a big adventure for her. This is the view from our sitting room balcony. Dinner at a great French restaurant of leg of lamb cooked in the traditional way on an open log fire. We are waiting for the food here. Well just one more.

The Inglis Family: Winter has arrived in Uppsala
http://theinglisblog.blogspot.com/2008/11/winter-has-arrived-in-uppsala.html
Our pictures and stories. Winter has arrived in Uppsala. We woke up this morning to this view of the garden, and a temperature of -8 C. So it's a morning of clearing the snow, and then staying indoors in front of a log fire. It's a beautiful sunny day now with a clear blue sky. Virve is even thinking of getting out her cross country skis! Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Uppsala, Uppland, Sweden. Robert, Virve and Vivi. View my complete profile. Our pictures and stories. Jenny, Freddy, Vivi , Virve and Robert. This is a photo taken last year of us in the garden of our house in Uppsala, Sweden. Since then Vivi has grown to be as tall as her mother, Freddy has put on weight (OK Freddy, pecs), Jenny is still the same, and Virve and I have not changed one iota, mm. Aprapos of nothing in particular, Vivi visited Freddy and Jennifer last November in Oxford and this is a nice photo of V and F with Magdalen College in the background. V and V midday.

The Inglis Family: October 2008
http://theinglisblog.blogspot.com/2008_10_01_archive.html
Our pictures and stories. The whole project of dressing a crab or undressing a crab had caught Vivi's imagination from the River Side cook book. We followed the text and illustrations but must say that we also invented or used much better tools than described. A nutcracker or in Swedish "Nötknäppare" we found most useful. Our boat is now up on dry land. Just before we gave up trying to go any further. I can't see anything actually, merely deciding where to anchor. Boat out of the water. Well the boat is ...

Our pictures and stories. More pics from Freddy and Jenny's visit. Some more pics from Freddy and Jenny's visit from Virve's mobile camera which we forgot to include earlier, including some on the boat and a visit to Mormor in Ludvika. Carola and some of her retinue in St Ansgar's Chapel in Birka. Carola and me (blurred). I think the gypsy look is a mistake, however. The bananas are a contribution from me. Don't ask. Our pictures and stories. Well as we've previously mentioned Nana came to visit. She was here for about 2 weeks. It was great to have her here and we had lots of fun. Mostly she just relaxed in the garden, in the shade of course, and read her book. We went into town with her twice which must be some sort of record. We also celebrated Mamma's birthday, eating dinner at Skarholmen which is the resturant next to our boat club. Here are some pictures from her visit, and also our amazing vegetable patch:.
