Finished at 9 am UK time this morning (no, I wasn’t up all night, even if my hair looks like it! Daughter Emily took the pictures for me, some of them are a little blurred (she’s only 10). And it’s pretty windy this morning in the south east of England. But here I am looking smug (despite DOH’s comment “Do you realise it’s see-through” – tsk, MEN! 8230; if a little wind-swept.

To strive to stretch ourselves as knitters and complete something during the period when the Olympic flame is lit. And so came, the Knitting Olympics. Over 3000 knitters will spend the next 16 days going somewhat demented, but all in a good cause – self improvement. There are several Team GB buttons out there, provided by the fabulous JenLa.

Next job is to stitch the armhole lines, and then cut the steeks – I’m mainly going to use the chain stitch method shown in Sally Melville’s latest “Knit Experience” book … and then I can pick up for the sleeves. I now have some photos of the operation. Here’s an improved version of the cutting diagram:. Will I make it?
