Musings on a life of cycling in the Southern Tier and Finger Lakes regions of New York State. Steering Blues; Hills and More Hills. Yesterday I disassembled my headset and took one of the cartridge bearings to a local bike shop in hopes that they carried them as a stock replacement item. No such luck, what pissed me off is that rather than offer to order the bearings, they suggested I order a replacement headset! Expand your tire collection, while you're at it. Links to this post. Musings on a life of cycling in the Southern Tier and Finger Lakes regions of New York State. A Big Game Run Amok. The day after the deluge it was functioning fine, but the day after, I started it up and then it would automatically stop. I kept having to press the start button to get it going again. I put it in a plastic bag with some rice to dry it out (advice from tech support at Garmin), but things only got gradually worse as the week went on. Le Tour Challenge 2011, Stage 1. Why was I doing this?

Grit and grime, but I beat the salt trucks! On Hanshaw Rd., wondering what the hell I'm doing. Better than a spa! Links to this post. Links to this post. The Hungry ...

Finger Lakes Cyclist: Last Day of the Month Desperation Push
http://fingerlakescyclist.blogspot.com/2011/06/last-day-of-month-desperation-push.html
Musings on a life of cycling in the Southern Tier and Finger Lakes regions of New York State. Last Day of the Month Desperation Push. For the third month in a row I started to mildly panic because my total mileage numbers were down in a month-to-month comparison with the previous year. I know it's just a game and that mileage totals is not a complete measure of success in training. However I'm not one to shy away from such mental games. Some stats for the year:. Average miles per week since May: 166 miles.
