Saturday, April 17, 2010. Farewell to Denton Ferry. Never thought I’d get so attached to a place in so short a time. But after five days in this beautiful spot, I have fallen in love with it. Thank goodness, Dick feels the same way and we have made plans to return next year for two weeks. Tomorrow we pack up and drive to St. Louis. We’ll have a wonderful time there too. Monday, April 12, 2010. The First is the Worst? The first day of the RV trip was great. Who knew? We left Grand Marais at 6:57 AM and encountered our first RV "moment" two hours later in Duluth as we drove down London Road. Suddenly Dick slowed the speed down to 25 MPH and when I looked to see the reason- there it was in front of us- a little old Dodge Sprint slowly crawling down the avenue. The driver was a little old man with either a very short wife or a very curly haired dog in the passenger seat.

We are sitting at the picnic table, overlooking the swift-flowing White River. Birds are singing etc. etc. We are relaxing…it's cocktail hour. I haven’t given size a thought, so I turn my eyes to the east, west, north and south. I have to turn my eyes skyward because of the walls of mammoth RVs surrounding us. My gosh, I never noticed. We knew it would be a long day when the “dreaded orange” construction signs began filling the freeway.
