A mad flurry of bike washing, house packing, farewells and flights and i'm back in Canberra, sitting on the family sofa watching Rosellas wash in the fishpond. Time to reflect on the Red Centre Enduro. The first stage got away after a parade behind a police car through the streets of Alice. I fulfilled a dream by giving high-5s to the school kids that lined the streets to cheer us off. Awesome way to start! D1/S2 - 0.3km ITT. Up at 4:30am to catch the school bus out to Trephina Gorge. Our dopey drive...

Last minute bash in the Alice. Ah christmas. riding, eating, sifting. The day of the year really. 7:30 was a nice casual start time for a ride with Po, Suze, Clarke and Julia. What started out as a completely overcast sky, soon cleared to a clear blue one but the cool breeze held firm to give us some great riding conditions. Out on the fence track, up along the helmet track, and return via roo track and 5-ways. a nice way to spend 2.5hours. Po, Suze and Julia on the Helmet Track. 3 days to Buffalo. Logis...

Brindies Circ: Day 2. Day 2: 135km /? Mt Bimberi didn't want to get out of bed in the morning. After a mild night the day dawned with a low cover of cloud, and after breakfasting and packing up we were off along Lone Pine FT by 7am. The condition of this trail wasn't the best, and I think we were all fearing a similar slog to yesterday, so it was heads down while we ticked off the next 10 or so kms. The end of the descent down Lone Pine FT in to the valley. Turning on to Yaouk Rd. Brindies Circ: Day 1.

jarradwrites: Two Sticks / Franklin circuit

Two Sticks / Franklin circuit. The excitement from the last 2-day ride had hung in the air like a wet fog so it wasn’t too long before a date was set for another tour. The crew would be largely the same this time round, but the gear would not. Monty had recently bought a Salsa Vaya expressly for this kind of ride, and Waz (subbing in for the O/S Regina) was bringing his B.O.B trailer. Day 1: 106km / 2165vm. Day 2: 76km /860vm. Back, and at rest. Only a month late in reporting that Paula and I are back in Australia. The rest of our France time was great. We finished the Haute Route, met Gabs in Corsica for a few days walking and eating Broccio, packed up our drippy cave in Bourg and jumped in a car for the final week to really ram home the France-ness. jarradwrites: Xmas 2012: 9 days of riding through KNP
http://jarradwrites.blogspot.com/2013/01/xmas-2012-9-days-of-riding-through-knp.html
Xmas 2012: 9 days of riding through KNP. Xmas this year was a Sutton-family affair and also a bit of a dream of mine: a supported ride. 7 people, 5 bikes and 2 cars meant that everyday there'd be people driving to ferry the camping gear to the next night's camp. I'd worked out an itinerary beforehand which mixed up some varied and interesting rides, short drives and simple logistics. and it all started with Po and myself riding from Lyneham. Day 1: Lyneham to Blue Waterholes 112km / 2330vm. To get to the...

Ok, NOW its flowing. Well, Po and I got quite excited by the trickle of beer cans and empty cartons that was the Todd flowing 2 days ago. The river had dramatically widened the next day, certainly qualifying as a flowing river. Yippee! But the rain had eased. The clouds were rising and dispersing. We went to bed thinking the levels will be dropping back down to the festy trickle of the day before. I got an excited call from Po at 11am. "Stop studying! Get your arse to the bridge! And bring the camera!

But it's been a while since I logged on and put up any updates, so what have we been up to? Picnics. If you're going to have a picnic, you might as well go to picnic heaven, lac d'Annecy. We've also been touching a bit of rock with visits to a cliff just near town, an artificial boulder in the park, and the indoor wall. I can't wait to get back on it and visit the local crags when I get back to Aus, it's been a while! Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). View my complete profile. C'est la vie de Jamie.
