Play rar movies on the fly in Linux/Ubuntu. Tisdag 22 juli 2008. Broke two years or so a go, and since then I've missed on the fly rar support. That is; being able to play a movie that reside within a 'release' RAR archive. Without having to uncompress it first. Me and a friend created this simple Shell script which; plays rar files on the fly in mplayer and at the same time uncompress it. Execute these commands in a shell to install 'playrar';. Wget http:/ monh.no-ip.info/playrar.

Comm is wayfaster then python. Tisdag 29 april 2008. I was doing a compare of a passwd nis-map and a ldap samaccountname listing, and 'comm -1 -3' beat my broken attempts at creating a passwd differ in python. 'cut - sort - comm' clocked in at around 5 seconds, comparing two lists of 100 000 users. The python code below took 10minutes of 100% load on the same machine (an old Intel server), and then failed to compare the two files. My first attempt at creating a python script, ended in epic fail. ;).
