It’s ironic (possibly paradoxical, never quite sure of the difference between those two) that while Korean products such as cellphones, computers, monitors, cameras etc are helping to connect people all over the world, at times it seems as if Korea doesn’t really want the world to connect with them at all. On the plus side, this hasn’t turned out to be a big barrier since I seem to very rarely have to use a phone here, probably a combination of living right next door to where I work, plentiful and easily accessible internet and email and no friends in the country. So, yes, silver linings and all that. So, no, I can’t use my phone in Korea. Stephen Fry is a tech head!
