Governance of the Canadian Nordic Society. The Canadian Nordic Society (CNS) was founded in 1963 by Letters Patent issued under the then applicable legislation, namely, Part II of The Companies Act, Revised Statutes of Canada 1952, c. 53, which later became Part II of the Canada Corporations Act, Revised Statutes of Canada 1970, c. C-32. The Annual General Meeting (AGM) of May 2013 authorized an application for Articles of Continuance under the new Act. A Certificate of Continuance.

Canadian Nordic Society Membership. We encourage everyone with an interest in the history, life and culture of the Nordic countries to apply for membership in the Canadian Nordic Society. Annual membership dues are: $30.00 for an individual, $45.00 for a family and $20.00 for a student (2015-16 rates). The membership year runs from September 1 to August 31. Membership dues enable the Canadian Nordic Society to carry on its program of activities and series of distinguished speakers.
