How to solve boggle with functional python. In preparation for my upcoming interview with Twitter, I wrote a program in python that randomly generates a grid of letters based on their frequency in the english language, loads the system dictionary into a hashtree, and then recursively searches the board for the longest word it can find. Heres some sample output of the program:. Ill try and update this post later on with an explanation of the code.

Cleaning up patchy book scans with Unpaper. Set yourself up with. Brew install xpdf unpaper. And then use the following shell script (unpaper-pdf.sh):. 06dppm output-%06d.ppm echo. Ls output-*.ppm `. Tiffcp *.tiff all.tiff echo. Tiff2pdf -z -o $filename. Unpaper.pdf all.tiff echo. Ppm output-*.ppm *.tiff. Chmod x unpaper-pdf.sh. Our usage here becomes:. Unpaper-pdf.sh (single double) textbook-scan.pdf.

My first week in Delhi by the numbers. At the end of each day of the last week, I have happily passed out. India has been exhausting. I dont have energy to do justice to my crazy week in sentences, so heres a summary by the numbers in roughly chronological order. 14 hours in a Boeing 777. 4 days of jet lag. 4 lectures on defense against sexual assault. 3 lectures on avoiding street food. 7 meals by our amazing Ashok, the cook. 6 hours riding the Indian metro. Thousands of Indian faces.
