Who needs to blog when you've got a life? And I found a place to live, but I'm not moving in until October. So what can I entice my blogging audience with? Not much. I'd love to entertain you, but I'm just plum out of entertaining tidbits. Japan was good for entertaining tidbits. Monday, August 14, 2006. Monday, August 07, 2006.

Good, but not tame. My blog, about whatever's on my mind, for whomever cares to read it. Friday, February 23, 2007. Ok Lanney. I've been thinking I should update this for a while. For all who are wondering, this blog isn't dead and neither am I. I just haven't been making an effort to blog, mostly because my life seems rather bland since coming back from Japan. It's fun to blog when you think you're going to entertain people somewhat, but I don't want to bore you. So I'm thrilled, not just at the hope of...

Breaking Dormancy: January 2011
http://travisldyck.blogspot.com/2011_01_01_archive.html
Sunday, January 30, 2011. About a month ago - Teegan and I were whisked away to Kim's Pho (A little Vietnamese restaurant in Toronto - I believe that's what it was called), by a few friends. Even though I didn't partake in Pho that night, I tried Teegan's and became quite smitten - seriously good. To quote my friend Shez "Dee-freakin-licious". So that being said, I thought I would take a stab at it. The recipe. I used came from Charles Phan on the Food &Wine website. Monday, January 24, 2011. Basil Mix -...

Breaking Dormancy: May 2011
http://travisldyck.blogspot.com/2011_05_01_archive.html
Saturday, May 28, 2011. A year ago or so I came into possession of 2 cast iron frying pans and since that point I have been wanting to make some corn bread. I have made cornbread before but there's something about having it baked in a cast iron frying pan that seems right. Cornbread (Adapted from Rebar's plain and fancy cornbread). 1 C Flour (Whole Wheat). 1 tsp Baking Soda. 2 tsp Baking Powder. 1/2 C Butter (Soft). Juice of a lime. Saturday, May 21, 2011. My garden plot is about a 5 minute drive from ou...

Breaking Dormancy: December 2010
http://travisldyck.blogspot.com/2010_12_01_archive.html
Monday, December 27, 2010. So, this year I volunteered to make the Turkey for the Odell family. I did so feeling inspired by Jamie Oliver and the turkey he cooked on his Christmas special on Food TV. It couldn't have been easier - it could have been cleaner on the other hand - but this was my first go - and boy was it the way to go! First I started by chopping a bunch of dried cranberries (a cup or so). Second I chopped a bunch of sage, rosemary and thyme. 16 pounds of fresh, organic, free range turkey!

Breaking Dormancy: February 2011
http://travisldyck.blogspot.com/2011_02_01_archive.html
Thursday, February 24, 2011. Yesterday, for some reason or another I had the urge to make bagels. So I went to my Peter Reinhart book and proceeded to peruse his recipe. After reading the recipe and his variations I couldn't decide whether I wanted to make a plain old bagel or a cranberry cinnamon bagel. The only logical option was to make 2 batches (Which is only a dozen). I have found a blog with the whole recipe in detail ( Here. Waiting for a bath. Out of the oven. Sunday, February 20, 2011. This was...
