Experiences in a broken face. Friday, August 29, 2008. I am now in my final wires before surgery. Dear God, the pain. In 4 weeks I go back to the ortho for one more set of impressions, and then the real fun starts. He said to expect the hospital to call soon to schedule their appointments for their sets of photos/impressions/etc. I probably shouldn't be looking forward to this as much as I am. Experiences in a broken face. Wednesday, August 20, 2008. A little about me. One year later, 4 wisdom teeth and 2 premolars fewer; and teeth much straighter, here I am. My final wires go on in about 2 weeks, and then the wait begins. I'm hoping for the surgery to be scheduled within 1-2 months of that, but there's no way to predict yet. I was kind of expecting it after my last visit to the surgeon so wasn’t upset or surprised. The lady said we’re rearranging your appointment with Mr Smith because you know your surgery’s been cancelled don’t you? I said Not that I know of! She literally just said I’ll ring you back. My mum had been visiting me every day this week (and was so happy to see her every time) and we had discussed that we would go for a little walk round the block – just to get some fresh air. Over the last few days, ive only managed half and then had the other half another time. I know the surgeon said I could try soft foods now but didnt want to have all softs in one go so planning on weening off the soups over the next couple of days.
