Under the full recovery model or bulk-logged recovery model, the inactive part of the log cannot be truncated until all its log records have been captured in a log backup. This is needed to maintain the log chain—a series of log records having an unbroken sequence of log sequence numbers (LSNs). The log is truncated when you back up the transaction log. If Search was functioning fine yesterday, but seems to have taken a crap on you today you might want to try these quick and easy fixes followed by some maintenance on Service Accounts and their Logins. Here's what I did:. Office SharePoint Server Search. Windows SharePoint Services Search. After this do a quick IISReset and test the search functionality. The basic process went like this;. Set DB's to read-only. Move DB's to MOSS 2007. Now view your Sites and all works fine right? Not so much, how about a "403 Forbidden" error. Thats always nice! Tuesday, March 13, 2012. Converting a Web Application to NTLM from Kerberos. Click on “Manage Web Applications”. Highlight the targeted web applications. Click on “Authentication Providers”. Click “Default” next to Windows. Scroll down and change IIS Authentication Settings from Negotiate (Kerberos) to NTLM.
