Cycle: Wtf. You seriously are on a high after the night out. After breakfast, on our way back. Cycle: How are you now da? Are you slisha better? Siva: Not sure da. Need to find out if I gained or lost altitude over the last half an hour. Cycle: Machaaaaa. Ok lets see. Tell me a joke. Siva: Give me an altimeter.

Glimpses of my thoughts and observations. Saturday, July 29, 2006. Meanwhile the AMD-ATI merger has made quite a few eyes look up. What could be the implications of this merger? There are many short term as well as long term implications of this merger. Is likely to be the most sought after gaming platform in the short term. This is because it will take a while before Nvidia brings out its SLI chipsets that support the. Hey how about Intel buying out Nvidia? Coming to ATI - It will have some short term l...

Glimpses of my thoughts and observations: September 2006

Glimpses of my thoughts and observations. Monday, September 11, 2006. Never store your Prof's mobile number on your cell. To Z during the 1'O clock class. He did not receive any reply from Z. At 2, he met Z outside the classroom and both decided to bunk the 2 hour class. So both went back to their rooms and crashed. He did not receive any reply though. Message to Prof. Y instead of X. PS : No marks for guessing that X is me! Sunday, September 03, 2006. I just installed VMware. On my SuSE 10.1 so that...

Glimpses of my thoughts and observations. Sunday, March 25, 2007. When I was watching the match, every throw by an Australian cricketer at the stumps did hit the stumps! All this just indicates their professionalism. But we will continue to support Team India and bet on them winning the next World Cup. HAIL Team India. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).

Glimpses of my thoughts and observations. Wednesday, August 23, 2006. Seagate - Amazing support. Initially I was worried about the hard disk crash. But now there are no worries. I did not lose too much data too. I was able to access my data by connecting my HDD. As a slave on a friend's comp. I had been worried that the hard disk was totally screwed and there was no way of recovering data. Been lucky though. Service center : Good evening. How can I help you? Me : Hi. I have a 160GB Seagate. I have a Sify.

Glimpses of my thoughts and observations: November 2006
http://thulper.blogspot.com/2006_11_01_archive.html
Glimpses of my thoughts and observations. Sunday, November 19, 2006. Human brain vs Computer. People have tried to model the computer as a human brain. I thought I should just try the reverse. Well I will just try to put down some analogies. OS does process scheduling - human brain also does scheduling. Those who have hajaar. To something more consistent across the platform. Context switches in comps take approximately constant time. But in the human brain, a context switch to do something utterly 'u...

musings: January 2009
http://ecstaticverve.blogspot.com/2009_01_01_archive.html
Saturday, January 31, 2009. Journal entry for 31st January 2008. What I cooked for dinner: Karela (bittergourd) and french omlette(with beans tomatoes and spinach) with rice and dal. Today morning was spent in the company of about 30 other Indians celebrating Saraswati Puja. That was followed by a lavish(by grad student standards) lunch cooked by my labmates and various other friends. It felt almost like back home and was fun. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). musings: My Hands
http://ecstaticverve.blogspot.com/2009/05/my-hands.html
Thursday, May 14, 2009. They feel weird. I don't know what to do with them anymore. They even saved my life that day as I hung outside the door of a female compartment holding on to the bars of the train door for over two hours in the dead of the night. It all started with the winter. The frigid cold here forces one to keep ones hands inside the pockets. Now, after doing that for over 4 months, with the cold giving way to warm sunshine they simply don't know what to do. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).
